Man Recordings  

Man Recordings was founded in 2005 by Berlin DJ, music journalist and producer Daniel Haaksman. Following the succes of his compilation "Rio Baile Funk Favela Booty Beats" on his former label Essay Recordings, Haaksman releases straight baile funk on his label - the music from the favelas of Rio De Janeiro. On Man,  Haaksman released the Funk Mundial series in which producers from the "North", such as Crookers, Count+Sinden, Scottie B, Seiji or Stereotyp collaborated with original Baile Funk MCs from Rio.



In the "Baile Funk Masters" vinyl series the label releases original productions from Rio DJs and producers such as DJ Sandrinho, DJ Edgar, DJ Sany Pitbull or DJ Amazing Clay. The label furthermore established the international career of Brazilian MC/DJ Edu K, with an album and

various single releases which featured remixes by Diplo, Switch, Crookers, Bonde Do Role, Sinden amongst others.



With MC Gringo, Man Recordings released the debut album by the only Non-Brazilian MC in the Rio favelas, the Germany born MC. In summer 2008 label head Daniel Haaksman releases his own release "Who´s Afraid Of Rio?", another love declaration to the mad beats from the sugarloaf city.
