AUTIST. records is an independent German techno label based in Berlin.
Founded in 1998 by DJ and producer Ferri Borbás (M_Ferri) and influenced by the sound of Detroit, the label started with a series of harder techno releases on vinyl that were played at the time by the likes of DJ Rush, Laurent Garnier and the oldschool avant-garde of Detroit deejays.
Since then AUTIST. records has developed its own style of techno ranging from minimal to tech-house. From the start, the vision of label founder Ferri Borbás has been to discover and foster emerging producer personalities. Artists like Boris Brejcha, who had his first releases on AUTIST. records, as well as Niko Schwind (Berlin), Kanio (UK) or Chatterbox (aka Christopher Manik, NYC) have meanwhile sharpened the profile of the label.
Starting 2009, AUTIST. is returning to its oldschool roots with the launch of a limited edition artist vinyl series to highlight its top producers. In addition, each EP released by AUTIST. is accompanied by an exclusive 1-hour DJ mix produced by the featured artist and aired over iTunes and radio stations like Pulse Radio in Australia or Ceoltronic Radio in Ireland.
AUTIST. nurtures its active community and fan base. It has recently launched the AUTIST. DJ Tools series, where producers provide select elements for download and further use by fellow music makers, free of charge. AUTIST. fans from all over the world voted via the label blog both for the cover of the new Niko Schwind vinyl “The Autistic Disco” as well as for the winning guest dj mix of the digital EP’s tracks.
Played and charted regularly by the likes of John Aquaviva and Richie Hawtin the label has received top recognition as counting among the vanguard of innovative and explosive dancefloor music forces.
