New Jersey house, disco and speed garage aficionado Todd Edwards takes the reigns of the Essential Mix this week with a two hour set that throws up stone-cold classics from Donna Summer, Chic and David Bowie alongside newer fare from Disclosure and LOL Boys, with many of the tracks edits and remixes from Edwards himself.

Edwards has been back in the spotlight again recently, having collaborated with Daft Punk on their new LP 'Random Access Memories,' even moving to Los Angeles to do so. You can find out all about his work with the robots in episode 2 of the 'Collaborators' video series here.

Daft Punk Collaborator Romanthony Passes Away

DJ, producer and vocalist Anthony Moore - known to the dance world as Romanthony - has died earlier this month. Despite no official statement being released, Moore's death was confirmed by his sister Mellony Moore through a facebook post that he died at his home in Austin, Texas, on May 7.

Moore is best known as providing vocals for Daft Punk's 2001 hit 'One More Time', with the news of his death tragically co-inciding with the release of the duo's latest album 'Random Access Memories'.

Moore began producing music in the early 90s, releasing classics such as 'The Wanderer' and 'Let Me Show You Love.'

Artists close to Moore have posted their condolences via social media, including Boys Noize who tweeted: "It is so sad. Romanthony and me were working on such an amzing song together. he said it was the best song he had ever written."

Breaking News: Damian Lazarus & Maceo Plex at Pacha NYC Tonight!

When you’re the club partner to something as massive as the EDC in New York City, the fringe benefits from a bookings perspective can be pretty impressive. Such is the story with the last minute announcement of Damian Lazarus and Maceo Plex performing tonight in Pachita, the third story of Pacha in NYC while Steve Angello likely plays to an overwhelmingly packed house downstairs.

It’s a great chance to sample multiple sides of the electronic spectrum at Pacha NYC which often skews towards one genre per night of their musical programming. The crowd will no doubt be amped up from Day One of EDC at Citifield in Queens and while the main floor and mezzanine will likely be dripping with neon attire and going off to Angello's signature big room sound, breaks Damian and Maceo Plex will be bringing their bassline driven house and techno to those more interested in hearing the other side of the coin.

Tickets for both floors are $45 in advance but $15 dollar door entry before midnight can be secured by RSVPing to this link.

Beyond Space & Sound: Into the Wormhole with Robot Heart

Robot Heart. It starts with a buzz about tickets. There begins a widespread murmur across Facebook feeds about secret codes and invites, costumes and robot hearts. What is this hype? What is this party all about? I embarked on the path to enlightenment in Brooklyn without even realizing how changed I would emerge on the other side the following morning.

The feeling of awe washed across me as I entered the hangar, for yes this was a hangar and not just a warehouse. The enormity of the space was incredible in itself. Small planes could be parked here, and not make a clutter. Milling around were hundreds of people…no scratch that, creatures from space. Outlandish outfits, gravity defying hair styles, bold colors, and reflective metals adorned those who walked by. Massive platform shoes carried giants across the polished stone floor. In all seriousness, I truly thought I had walked upon another planet. By simply walking in, I had stepped through a veil of surrealism, and all my earthly cares were left far, far, behind.

An intuition to get lost took over my mind, and impatience moved me away from my friends. I wanted to be in the middle of the crowd, free to roam, like a puppet whose strings had just been cut loose. Ahead of me, the icon that I'd come to know through pictures and stories seemed almost to defy gravity due to the immense amount of speakers artificially mounted on what was once a run of the mill New York City bus. With the booth on top, the DJs became deities ruling over our emotions with the power of sound. Lights flashed here and there and I was moonwalking through not just the crowd but my own mind.

This was the utmost example of diversity. People of all walks gathered to elevate their souls in a sense of community and creativity. By donning these costumes, we were releasing ourselves from the bind of daily life.

After relishing the feeling of getting lost had worn off I once again wanted to be found. As I wandered around, still dazed by the scale of the building I was in, I reconnected with old friends and made several new ones. Couches lined the sides of the venue and as more and more people took refuge on them, they began to resemble harems as people lounged, made out and rested their legs from dancing. There were various additional structures and almost participatory art installation you could stand on which lifted you above the sea of space cadets and allowed yet another vantage point from which to witness the magic.

The size of the sound was overwhelming in the most positive sense of the word. It was massive, like the thunder you hear roll over nearby hills and fills you with the anticipation of something great to come. Francesca Lombardo in a delicate pink wig was playing when I arrived and as she played deep bass lines and subtle melodies rafted through the air. Is this what heaven sounded like? Who knows.

After Francesca paved the way into our hearts, Audiofly took over the decks high up in the sky and delivered the second chapter of our journey. They serenaded us with beautiful and closed with local producer Rami Abousabe's remix of Foals' "Spanish Sahara," a gorgeous track with warm vocals that enveloped me, and seemingly everyone else.

I think the correct term for how I felt was "spirited away" like the movie by Hayao Miyazaki. As our souls were uplifted and regenerated, it created an invisible dome that surrounded us with a feeling of being connected that spurred the magic we were all feeling felt within.

Black Light Smoke followed at one point playing his remix of Bob Moses with Tom Howie from the band singing live. Bob Moses followed and and when they were through, after a brief pause, another track began to play. I was so taken aback, assuaged by a wave of memories that I had not revisited in a while. Pachanga Boys' track "Time" creeped in and sounded at first eerie to me. The last time I had heard that track was a little over a year ago in Miami when Sasha played one of the most moving sets I had ever heard that left no one untouched. It was a track that I listened to after only in my private moments, in dark instances of reflection when I kept to myself, headphones intact. I was in a state of shock as the melody spoke to me through the massive custom made speakers, crumbling a wall inside of me and unleashing tears as the memories washed in. Smiling through tears, I felt cleansed, rid of all my impurities and toxins. Even as the song faded, I found I could not stop crying, so powerful a mark it had left behind. As the tears stopped and my groove resumed, I was rejuvenated with a burst of clean energy that would last me until the end. It wasn't until after that I found out this track was a Burner anthem and I was not the only one moved so.

My heart unladen and my mind cleared, I got lost again. I found a spot and danced alone like no one was watching, carrying through until the last beautiful track that Francesca and Anthony of Audiofly gracefully ended our journey with. It was another favorite of mine, Conan Mockasin's Forever Dolphin Love (Erol Alkan Rework). I rejoined my friends and we walked out from the darkness into clear blue skies, the East River, and the majestic skyline of New York City. As sunshine poured on our haggard bodies and tired faces, I looked up to appreciate the lazy puffs of clouds hanging around the Empire State Building. I thought in amazement how one night, eight hours to be exact, held such a plethora of emotions, wonders, and experiences. It makes me feel ever more thankful to be a part of this music scene, one that transcends words and sounds and emerges in the intangible. I always wonder how music that is created using machines can so effectivley summon the broad spectrum of human emotion.

P Diddy in "Downtown" Abbey Spoof

You'd think that with all the vast sums of money and parties on yachts that P Diddy has to go to, the last thing he would spend his time on would be bothering himself with the goings on of a British period drama for middle aged women. That is, however, exactly what multi (hundred) millionaire has done.

In a bizarre series of events, the Harlem rapper/actor/entrepeneur starred in the above video in which he acts out his own versions of scenes from the ITV drama which he described as his "favourite show of all time".

The video went online after Combs announcing on twitter on Wednesday night that he was due to star in the show - with the joke being lost on most resulting in the show's US Channel having to deny the rumour. Whether Diddy is in fact a fan of the show is unclear, however we feel that there should be serious repercussions from the rap world if this is indeed the case. Biggy got shot for less.

Maceo Plex and Karocel Added to Melt! Festival Line Up

German “rock meets electronic” music festival Melt, have announced even more artists for their ever growing line up.

Melt Festival, now in its sixteenth year, have added American born, Valencia-based house producer Maceo Plex to their already impressive list of talent. The “Vibe Your Love” creator will be taking to the booth at the festivals Big Wheel Stage. Also announced today was Karocel, the collaborative live project of German artists Mathias Kaden, Michael Nagler and Marbert Rocel.

They will be joining previously announced acts including James Blake, The Knife, Ben UFO and many more in 2 months in the City Of Iron - Ferropolis, an open-air museum of abandoned industrial machinery and an ex quarry.

With the final batch of artists still to be announced for the festival, which takes place from Friday, 19 July to Sunday, 21 July, it's clear that Melt is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the summer.

Underline for Off Barcelona with secret guest from Desolat

With Sonar week in Barcelona and the inevitable Off parties only weeks away Boulevard Culture Club have announced their Thursday night offering for Off; Underline presents Family and Friends. Taking over all three rooms. Room 1 will host Detroit legend Derrick Carter alongside Tom Trago, Jesse Rose and more.

Checkpoint's takeover of Room 2 however is what's causing the most talk with hints that there will be a secret guest from Desolat joining the line up. With tINI and the gang members Fernando Constantini, Bella Sarris and Brett Jacobs all in there with FACT''s Javi Sampol and more it doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to guess which Desolat gang leader this excitingly just might be. Catching Up With The Rhodesians

An acoustic band who’s bio reads – “It’s an honest listen”. Now when I say acoustic, it was slightly unorthodox in the sense that these guys were playing three box guitars and a Cajon, but with the enthusiasm of a full rock outfit that’s backed by that wall of Marshall guitar cabinets that Jeff Hanneman of Slayer was so well known for.

It wasn’t long until the band stripped down and before the reform; they found themselves at that proverbial fork in “The Long & Dusty Road” (The name of their soon to be recorded album).

Understandably, they believed this to be the perfect time to start experimenting with and introducing new sounds to the band. They add, “Ultimately what we want to sound like is hugely influenced by bands like Radiohead, The Presets, Muse and Oasis”, and with Cliff Viljoen (main guitar) being a producer, he has subtly been working in synthetic sounds into a few of their studio projects such as ‘Someday maybe one day’ and ‘You should have listened’ whilst getting a promising response.

Live being a different beast altogether – Cliff adds “the introduction to synthetic sounds in our set is going to be just as subtle”, but it’s only a matter of time until you’ll be able to watch this progression in full swing live on stage.

Daft Punk Set To Beat Oasis in UK Album Sales Milestone

If anyone ever needed any evidence to prove that Daft Punk are better than Oasis (no one did) then here it is. The much hyped return of the robotic, French electronic music gods, Random Access Memories, is on its way to becoming the fastest selling album in UK chart history – removing Oasis' 1997 LP, Be Here Now, from the top spot.

While their uber-catchy pop collaboration with Pharell, Get Lucky, has its sights set on its fourth straight week at number one, there has been a lot of debate over the new album, the duo's first since Human After All back in 2005. After smashing Amazon's pre-sale records, Random Access Memories has become the bookies favourite to take the title, with the odds of it happening being slashed to 4/5.

Although not known for their involvement (or critical commentary) in popular music, Paddy Power have released the following statement; “ They might not have a catchy moniker like the ‘Beliebers’, but fans don’t come much more passionate and excitable than Daft Punk enthusiasts so we’re expecting big things for the French DJs next week. We only hope that the success doesn’t go straight to their helmets.”

Breach To Tour Australia

Bristol based producer Ben Westbeech also known as Breach is bringing his heady blend of house, techno with plenty of deep, jacking beats afloat for his Sydney leg of his Australian tour, thanks to the folks at Cakes x The Wall. With support from the UK's Route 94 who will be bringing the bass for the event and plenty of local support, this is a Yacht Soiree not to be missed. We caught up with Breach for a quick chat ahead of the event to talk about his fledgling label Naked Naked, his upcoming Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 and how champagne and oysters make the ideal Yacht Soiree. Read on after the mix...

You sing, DJ and produce under a few different aliases - what influences Breach as opposed to Ben Westbeech? Breach is my production name for more sort of underground house music and Ben Weestbech is more the singing project for me because im a singer too – but then I’m starting to subtly sing on my Breach stuff.

In terms of influences, I would say more house music- people like Kink influenced me. I’d say melody wise I like minimal stuff, I like hard wax stuff that comes out of Germany and Berlin and that techier side, that sort of dub-techno - I suppose throw in slight drum n bass influences that’s what I grew up with, hip hop.. 'Jack' is really hip hop influenced – there’s a whole melting pot going on with Breach, not just house – in my early stuff there was some dubstep influences because that was what was going on around me in London, because I’ve gone through genres that have gone in and out of fashion, everything sort of tarred my production brush in the Breach area

Tell us more about what prompted you to start your label Naked Naked I just had a record that I believed in and I really couldn’t hear it anywhere else so I thought this about the right time for me to start a label, I had a lot of people making music around me I just thought it would be great if I could channel all that sort of output into a label and create a place for these artists to make music on and for myself and for me to do collaboration work with people - I find that really exciting collaborating with people, Dusky have just got a record coming out on my label now, which is my first foray into releasing another producers music that I’m not really involved in, I heavily A&R’d it though – it’s coming out early June, it’s really beautiful it's called 'Vanishing Point' EP.

Was there anyone else involved in starting Naked Naked? It’s just me – funnily enough I was going to start a label with Eats Everything and we both went against it at the last minute, I went off and did my thing, he went off and did his thing and we haven’t spoken since – I’m joking! (laughs)

And then at the end, some problem happened with one of the tunes and we just sort of went our own ways, I’m actually really happy because musically, we’ve both gone in different directions, so I think by now, we would have wanted to go our own ways. I just love having that control of it, it’s my baby – I can make it wear whatever I want!

Other labels you're loving other than Naked Naked? There’s loads of other labels I love – I love what Aus are putting out, they release stuff from George Fitzgerald, Dusky, Midlands, Leon Vinyl- it’s a label by Will Saul, they’ve been going for years and years and really coming into prominence now; Dirtybird, I love a lot of what they put out, Petz Recordings, Catz and Dogz label is putting out really good stuff.

You'v collaborated with the likes of Dark Sky and Midlands - are there any more collaborations on the horizon? There’s a few people, I’ve got a little tune bubbling away with a guy called Citizen, who is a house producer from London, that’s sort of a work in progress, not really sure if and when that’s going to come out,… me and George fitzgerald, we started something, me, him and T Williams started something ages ago in the studio, he’s someone I’ve been speaking to for awhile, I think I might go to berlin and make a tune with him pretty soon, I think that’d be a really cool collaboration.

What's on the agenda in 2013 for Breach? 'Jack' has just been signed to Atlantic, they’ve licensed the tune for a worldwide release, it has potential to do big things, which is great – not what I had originially intended for the tune, it was made as an underground record and the fact they’ve picked it up its great – I’m doing an Essential Mix for Radio 1 next week as well.

Any ideas on how you’re planning to approach the Essential Mix? I’m in a battle in my own head about it at the moment, it’s generally classed as a studio mix, but part of me says fuck it, I’ve been DJ’ing since I was 12, I just want to do it live but then the other part is you only get one shot at it, I mean I could mix it in the studio and take ages over it and do it on ableton, I don’t know yet, but I’d like to do it live if possible – I think it goes out after the Australia tour!

You are playing a boat party on your Sydney leg of your Australian tour - tell us what your ideal Yacht Soiree would be like? I’d say champers, maybe some pre-party oysters would be great, good sound system, loads of happy people in the sunshine – maybe some of those water misters?!

Skream Admits He Was "Smashed" During Controversial Boiler Room Set

If you're a fan of Skream or the Boiler Room, you'd be well aware of the DJ's, erm, 'interesting' set for the website during the SXSW conference in Austin. If you need to get up to speed, Skream was rather sloppy on the decks that evening, and the sound was cut off early towards the end of his set, which left the DJ so unimpressed that he unplugged one of the CDJs and handed it to the crowd.

This week the recording of his set, which Boiler Room described as, “Probably the most talked about set we’ve ever had," was uploaded to Youtube, which has led to more internet chatter over the whole scenario. So much so that it prompted Skream to take to his facebook page to defend himself.

“So I’m getting a lot of stick because of my Ray Ban x Boiler Room set,” his post read.

“1. I know it’s an awful mix.
2. Yes I was clearly smashed.
3. I’ve apologized already for what happened.”

Brain Surgery Postpones The Crystal Method's New Album Release Date

For those of you who were looking forward to Crystal Method's fifth studio album release, there is unfortunately a delay due co-founder Scott Kirkland recently undergoing brain surgery and suffering complications from it after. The surgery occurred a little over a month ago on April 11, 2013.

The Grammy-nominated duo responsible for the platinum album "Vegas" was set to release their self-titled album in Spring of 2013. They had been touring to promote the new album, which was why the doctor recommended to go forward the brain surgery as to prevent the possibility of rupturing the cyst while performing on stage.

You can see Scott wasted no time in getting back to the studio after the surgery, posting a photo his Facebook page showing off his stitches from the surgery. Although feeling well, he had to return to the hospital in much pain due to an infection. Back on the mend now, he states in today's press release, "I'm itching to get back in the studio and finish mixing the last two tracks…I can’t tell you how frustrating it is for me that my health has made us postpone the release." Anxious in order to not disappoint his fans, he hopes to return shortly to the studio with Ken to complete the album and prepare tour dates for the fall.

Now in its third year, the East Ender open air festival at OFF-Barcelona is back with a bang, with an excellent line up of some of the biggest names from the house and techno world.

The festival will operate three stages over two days (Thursday, 13 June and Friday, 14 June) and excitement is building with the announcement of the artists due to play on each stage.Thursday will see Cadenza Records celebrating their 10th Birthday by taking over the East Stage. Robert Hood prepares new album 'Paradise'

Giorgio Moroder To Make His DJ Debut At Age 73

Legendary Italian disco producer and film scorer Giorgio Moroder - known most famously for his production of Donna Summer's defining record 'I Feel Love' and most recently as a collaborator on Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories' - is set to grace the wheels of steel for the first time in his life at the tender age of 73. Moroder will headline the special, sold-out, Red Bull Music Academy edition of the Deep Space party in New York on May 20 alongside Francois K, T.Williams and Benjamin Damage.

In an interview with Time Out, Moroder disclosed some details on his upcoming debut set.

"I’m excited to be doing this," he explained. "I have this guy who works with me, Chris Cox—who’s a great remixer, and a really good DJ—and he and I are now putting all the music together for this. It’s basically going to be a lot of compositions from Donna and myself, along with some other things, and I think I’m going to play for about an hour. I may play live a little bit, and I think we are going to use a vocoder."

The producer also revealed that he is working with young American behemoth Avicii and that he may in fact be turning DJing into his new career path.

"Right now, I am working with [EDM star] Avicii here in Los Angeles, and we were talking the other day about the record business, and how far it has gone down. But the DJ is making more and more money. It’s incredible! So…I now have an agent for deejaying, and I already have a second job in Tokyo at the end of May. But I’m going to wait and see how these two go before I get too committed to it."

We're of course talking about CLR Recordings boss Chris Liebing, who will be stopping by for a whirlwind three shows over the Queen's Birthday long weekend, playing 3-hour live shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Liebing is one of techno's long-standing DJs. Beginning his career way back in 1990 in Germany, Liebing's sound has continued to evolve during his career, yet always staying true to his techno roots. He was one of the first DJs to adopt the new possibilities in the course of the digitalization of music in a consequent and creative way and real-time manipulation of the individual elements plays an important role in his sets.

Google Play Dives into Music with its All Access Subscription Service

Today Google launched it's own music subscription service "Google Play Music All Access". For now the service is only available in the United States, but other countries will follow soon. Sign up before June 30th for a 30-day trial and you have the chance to enjoy the service for a discounted price of $7.99/month as opposed to regular price of $9.99/month.

The subscription allows you to add music you already own and combine it with Google's music databases to create recommended playlists. There is a plethora of music available on other subscription programs, however Chris Yerga of Google comments that GPMAA aims to not "just give you access to great music but also [it also] guides you through it." The service is engineered to play music quickly and intelligently. It is also easy to access for users with Android phones, conveniently located in the Google Play store.

The web giant takes its first dip into the vast waters of the online music industry, joining other competitors such as Spotify. It can be daunting and time consuming to find new music that is good and along the lines of something you would like. It seems that Google has found the right algorithm to provide us with the correct musical answers. We couldn't help but notice in the photos of the Google Play Music All Access presentation that Google has some James Blake in their music library.

It's Piknic Time! Matt Tolfrey & Laura Jones Headline Debut Weekend

Piknic Electronic begins this Sunday, May 19th at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal. The eleventh iteration of the festival kicks off with musical programming set for two days in a row. Leftroom Records' Matt Tolfrey and Laura Jones headline the Moog stage on the 19th, while Carl Craig closes out the stage on the following night of Monday the 20th.

Leftroom Records was started by Matt Tolfrey in Nottingham, England in 2005. The label has released tracks from talent such as Inxec, Ryan Elliot, Kate Simko, and Laura Jones. Since 2005, the label has expanded to include a sub-label (Leftroom Limited) and a digital label (Left'd) as well. Tolfrey pushed the sound of minimal, disco, and house on his label for which he became well known for in the UK. Laura Jones' fame is steadily rising for her groovy productions. With careful A&R from Leftroom Records, Laura's star shines brighter each year.

Azari & III Headline LWE 3rd Birthday

Made in the UK, Beat Girl is an independently made film that concentrated in the story of a girl making her way in the scene as an upcoming 'DJ', a sort of gritty, rags to riches Northern English drama. Or according to Vice Magazine, "...the plot something like Bend It Like Beckham set in the shit nightclub from Hollyoaks. Let's face it, I'm not going to see it, you're not going to see it, Beat Girl herself probably isn't going to see it, so let's just try to figure out what it's about from the trailer alone".

Shazam Generates $300 Million Worth Of Yearly Downloads

As reported by Digital Music News, according to stats released by Shazam, the popular music identification app is generating up to $300 million worth of digital download sales a year, generated immediately after song recognitions. According to stats worked out by DMN, this equates to roughly 1 out of every 14 downloads.

The figures were revealed by the company's executive vice president David Jones during a detailed presentation at the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM). Jones has confirmed that this is an annual, gross figure on digital downloads only, with Shazam's referral cut amounting to something substantial.

Jones also claims that the $300 million sales figure has been doubling every year.

"That's growing triple digits, so it's going to be double that every year," he explained. "It's certainly been double over the last several years."

This follows the news from earlier this year that the company has signed a deal with electronic music download website Beatport for a whopping 1.5 million songs.

Maya Jane Coles Preps Debut Album 'Comfort'

After a hot streak with the 'Easier To Hide EP' and a second Essential Mix in two years, UK DJ and producer Maya Jane Coles is preparing to release her debut album, 'Comfort', on June 28.

The album sees MJC reel in a handful of guest vocalists; Hercules & Love Affair's Kim Ann Foxman, Swedish singer Karin Park, revered Bristiol rapper Tricky and electroclash pioneer Miss Kittin. Coles also provides her own vocal stylings on the album, which fans will have already witnessed on the 'Easier To Hide' EP's title track, which also appears on the LP.

Maya Jane Coles' star has continued to rise since she arrived on the scene in 2008 with a series of EPs, though it wasn't until her 2010 track 'What They Say' caught the attention of DJs and clubbers alike that the Coles gained more widespread attention and began wowing crowds with her DJ sets.

On Thursday May 9th, an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to JFK had to make an emergency landing in St. Louis to kick off a woman who refused to stop singing. It's not everyday that your plane makes an emergency stop….to boot off a woman who's belting Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" at the top of her lungs. Watch the clip below:

Our singing lady was cuffed on the spot by the federal air marshall who attempted to calm her down. The woman was released from custody and was not charged, however she will not be flying with American Airlines anymore. She claims "diabetes" as an excuse for her behavior. Here is another video angle of the flight disturbance.

People took to twitter, not in amazement, but rather in annoyance that their flight was delayed. So the next time you decide to show off your vocal talent, you may earn the disapproval of TSA but more importantly, you'll have your fifteen seconds of fame on the internet.

Carl Cox wasn't kidding when he said he liked Output, as he returns to play there tomorrow, May 15th. "It's without a doubt the best club in New York since Twilo, and I love it!" Carl Cox stated on his Global Radio cloud cast 522, which was recorded live when he played there on March 6th. It seems a tradition begins to form for Carl, for he is to play a six hour open-to-close set on Wednesday like he did the first time. I'm sure this is one weekday tradition New York City is happy to embrace.

Carl Cox is a bit of an unexplained musical mystery. A figurehead in dance music, Carl Cox has been known to please all party goers with different musical tastes. Whether you listen to underground techno or more mainstream progressive/electro sounds, all roads lead to Carl Cox as the unifying front where everyone has a great time. When approached about this in an interview with Magnetic Mag, Carl Cox merely responds "I think a lot of it is because I've been around for so many years…Every single party that I've done has been of a caliber that I am as an artist and a DJ. You can trust me to make sure that no matter what happens you're gonna have a party with Carl Cox."

Discovery announce that they'll be helping Abstraxion launch his Dark Knight EP with Its a Fine Line man Tim Paris, DC Salas and more at Shoreditch's Horse & Groom on Saturday the 18th May.

If, like us, you find hearing Christian Bale's Strepsil deprived croak more terrifying than his actual Batman persona, you needn't worry– this is not that sort of Dark Knight party. This Dark Knight knees up is to launch the new EP by French producer Abstraxion.

Saturday, 18 June will see the launch party for this newest musical outing of the 28 year old, London based producer at the Horse & Groom, London. After running and releasing on his own imprint Biologic records (which he runs with DC Salas) since 2005, Abstraxion has enjoyed releases on Different Recordings as well as honing his live audio-visual show which includes futuristic architectural structure and sound mapping-visuals.

Dark Knight, which is to be released on Tim Paris' Marketing Music imprint, is an analogue labour of love which the Frenchman describes as “hypnotic and psychedelic music that makes the body dance”. The Ep will be available to buy this weekend. Playing alongside Abstraxion on the night will be Marketing Music label boss Tim Paris, Belgian born DC Salas (who will be making his UK debut) and Discovery regular Neil Thornton. EDC NYC Announces Set Times: Acts We Recommend

The traveling concert series by Insomniac returns for two days on May 17th and 18th, to the New York metro area, choosing Citi Field in Queens as its new home. While last year the event spanned three days and sported four stages, it has been shortened to days and now has five stages of acts. The only stage that has undergone a change in set up since last year is the "Neon Garden." Its line up consists of fewer deep house and techno acts than previously, but they now have longer hour and a half to two hour sets. As goes with most festivals, you've got a whole lot of artists and not a lot of time. We've combed through the list of artists to present to you the acts we recommend.

On May 17th

Kinetic Field holds a gem called Eric Prydz (8:30-10pm), who finally got over his fear of flying to come to the US. The Swede is the fourth member of Swedish House Mafia before he left in 2005, which is a little known fact about Prydz. As popular as he is, he does not limit himself to any sound, his sets spanning from underground house vibes to a more progressive house feel. Right after Prydz, it's worth taking a few minutes to listen to ATB, who has had some interesting sets in the pasts.

We are very tempted to tell you to stay put at the Neon Garden stage for most of the day, and it's hard not to when Damian Lazarus (2:30 - 4pm) is playing right before Maceo Plex (4 - 5:30pm). Damian's style of beautiful techno and deep house makes anyone appreciative of a sunny festival day, while Maceo's sets literally rock the house with his brand of deep house. Your feet will not stop moving, guaranteed. The Neon Garden closes out the day with a techno feast featuring Richie Hawtin (9-11pm) and Dubfire (7-9pm).

On May 18th

There are a few of us who have already looked at the schedule and locked in to the Neon Garden stage from 6pm straight up until 11pm for a treat no one saw coming. Carl Cox and Loco Dice are taking over the stage for five hours, which is sure to make techno heads cry with happiness. From 6 - 8pm Loco Dice leads the party, followed by the dance music phenomena, Carl Cox taking over the following two hours 8 - 10pm. If that wasn't enough, Carl Cox and Loco Dice are going back to back the hour after that 10 - 11pm. This is going to be a mind blowing set, as both of them always deliver quality sets.

If you have a chance, it may be worth to sneak away for a few moments to check out Empire of the Sun (8:30 - 9:30pm) performing live at the Circuit Grounds stage. This synth pop group has a catchy sound with tracks like "We Are The People" and "Walking on a Dream." It's nice to have a change of pace in music, as we tend to get caught up in genres.

Miles ahead of time and a supposed teaser video titled 'Reveal Playstation' has appeared on YouTube claiming to offer a first look at the fourth in Sony Entertainment's home entertainment lines.

Titled "Reveal PlayStation 4 PS4 E3 2013," the video above features a series of men and women staring into the camera while the familiar button symbols are shown reflected in their eyes. A voice asks "You want to play?" while clips of games and the PS4 system itself cycle through.

It's actually been recently confirmed by Sony that the video is indeed a fake - it's also unclear if the console shall actually look like it dooes in the mock up picture above- but props to the video's creator for making such a slick visual treat.

Gradually building and rising in timbre and tone, this release sees 2 of the UK's finest combine their unique approaches to the dancefloor.

Mexican electronic music enthusiasts Akbal Music will be teaming up with Barcelona natives Digital Delight for a party that features James Teej, Fur Coat and many more.

During Barcelona's OFF week`, the 12th June will see both collectives take to the Parc Del Forum, in Barcelona, to play an all day party in the sun, with a sterling line up that will feature the likes of Circoloco resident Clive Henry, Canadian James Teej and Venezuelan DJ duo Fur Coat. UK based producers Wildkatz will be flying the flag for Digital Delight and Akbal Music alike, with the trio having released tracks on both imprints while Akbal affiliated Miguel Puente represents the Mexican contingency.

With a Funktion One soundsystem providing the sound, and the option to take a dip in the enclosed sea swimming area that the Parc Del Forum boasts, it's easy to see why tickets for this event are flying out the door. Nile Rodgers To Record the IMS 'Official Anthem'

Ibiza International Music Summit - or IMS in short - is just around the corner. And before the music industry and electronic showcase begins next week, 22nd May, the conference have announced that Chic front-man and production royalty Nile Rodgers shall be recording the official IMS Anthem for 2013.

Nile of course gave a sho stopping talk to the conference last year, discussing his life and role in the music industry. After producing for the likes of Grace Jones, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, it seems a natural choice to record the official 'anthem' of the conference, Its not the first time that Nile's skills are being required - he's appeared on Daft Punk's Get Lucky. Speaking about the anthem project, he said:

"I am so excited to be creating the IMS Anthem 2013. I had such an inspirational time at IMS last year and its opened up many new connections including collaborations with many contemporary electronic artists. I've created this new track with Ibiza and the electronic community in mind before handing over to one of my favourite remixers of today – Eats Everything. I can't wait to hear what he does with it, and to hear it at Dalt Vila in Ibiza! Historic site for historic music productions."

Every year IMS commissions two very special artists to conceive and remix its anthem, all within a very limited timeframe. The producer and remixer of the anthem have the same allotted time on Thursday 23rd May and it will then be played at the IMS Finale, which takes place at the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Dalt Vila. Other people billed to perform at the finale (also marking the official beginning of the season) Maya Jane Coles, Sven Vath, Tensnake, Solomun and more.
