Cuckoo Bar, opened its doors in 2007 with a focus to revive the underground electronic music scene in Adelaide. The club has positioned itself as one of the cities premium venues, hosting a steady line up of top class international acts. From Robert Hood to Kon, Frivolous to Recloose, Tokimonsta to Pepe Bradock, Rick Wade to Dj Bold and Berlin stalwarts Steve Bug, Tom Clark, Guido Schneider, Dapayk, Marcel Knopf, Session Victim and Sammy Dee.
Cuckoo prides itself on a love for real music, and gives special attention to how it’s received. With a 4 point Funktion1 Sound system, in intimate surroundings, it creates an environment where the intricate details of the music can be most appreciated.
Cuckoo’s label, ‘Cuckoo Music’ was born out of the local network of producers and Dj’s involved with the club. Owner Phil Rogers teamed up with Adelaide legends, The Carter Bros, to launch the label, and drop the full length album ‘Metropolitain’ as the first release. So far another 3 have followed, including a full length album from Inkswel and two EPs. All are available online from JunoDownload.
