PROMOTER
SOS: Save Our Souls is Jim Warboy’s fresh clubbing experience and DJ Mag dubbed the gutsy NYE 12-hour launch party as ‘the final destination for London’s true party heads. In a short space of time the uplifting atmosphere at SOS has already shaken up the London’s trendy Shoreditch scene up with its signature mainroom catwalk shows, vogueing and waacking dancers, raunchy backroom cinema, and off-the-wall installations. SOS attracts a wild mix of dressed up and dressed down fun lovers dancing the night away to underground house music reminiscent of late 80s/ early 90s gay clubs such as London’s Kinky Gerlinky and NYC Sound Factory and Paradise Garage. It has been likened to the sleazy side of Berlin meets the lost underground of New York meets the wild side of London. Prior to this, Warboy launched Caligula in 2009 and made an instant impact within months. MTV marked it out as ‘the London answer to Studio 54’ and Vogue called it ‘one of London’s hottest fashion parties.’ The weekly party attracted many fashion industry people, as well as people with an interest in sexy disco and uplifting Hi-NRG. Guest DJs included Roisin Murphy, Andrew Butler and Kim Ann Foxman (both of Hercules And Love Affair), Mr C (Shamen), and Mark Moore (S’Express). Warboy finished with Caligula at the end of 2010 to make way for his fresh club project SOS: Save Our Souls. All You Can Eat was one of the leading club nights around Nu Rave that Warboy promoted with K-tron. Within months of its launch in January 2006 i-D magazine had identified the impact it’s warehouse bashes were having tagging it ‘the Taboo of the generation’. Previously Warboy had joined Matthew Glamorre to co-promote the legendary avant dress-up club Kash Point. This club attracted many fashion and art students and presented some of designers Gareth Pugh and Cassette Playas earliest fashion shows.
