SECOND DATE is Henry Birkbeck, a 24-year-old London-based producer who generally operates at the slower end of the dance register. Having lived in New York and Paris while growing up, he draws influence from a range of sources on both sides of the Atlantic. His production places emphasis on intricate beats, warm bass, poppy vocals and arpeggiating piano. Not entirely comfortable being pigeonholed, he creates rich atmospheres in both his originals and remixes by sliding between R'n'B, nu-disco, melodic house and post-dubstep.
