Rune RK’s worldwide monster hit ’Calabria’ sold more than 4 million singles, reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart and gathered a collective 50 million (!) hits on Youtube. In the US alone it got more than
500.000 radio plays and was the most sold track on iTunes Dance US in 2008. In France ‘Calabria’ sold a staggering 250.000 copies.
This ‘Seemingly indestructible track’, as hailed by The New York Times, has been demolishing charts, radios and dance floors across the planet; from the US to Ibiza and Shanghai.

The massive success of ‘Calabria’ - with the trademark saxophone riff and hooky thumping beat complimented with Ragga vocals on top - catapulted Rune RK into arenas like Sensation Denmark, Berghain (Berlin), Nikki Beach (Miami), Love Parade (Berlin), The End (London), Canadian Wonderland and Amnesia and El Divino in sunny music mecca Ibiza where ‘Calabria’ arguably was one of the biggest tracks for several seasons.......
Rune RK has received 2 BMI Awards, 1 Danish Music Award (Grammy) and 10 Danish DeeJay Awards, 5 of them being in the Best DeeJay category – in the home country of friends like Trentemøller and Martinez and has worked with the likes of Mark Knight, Darren Emerson, Roger Sanchez and DJ Hell and played along with Diplo, David Guetta, Dirty South and Axwell of Swedish House Mafia.
Rune’s worldwide stardom soon spawned production requests from the likes of Shakira and Flo-Rida and collabora- tions with prominent people like Pitbull and Lil Jon, Mims, Lumidee, Beenie Man, Nicky Minaj and Greg Nice (Nice & Smooth).
Rune RK’s weekly radio show on national Danish radio station The Voice has 200.000 weekly listeners and 40.000 weekly podcast downloads. This places RK’s podcasts on a constant # 1 position on iTunes Denmark week after week – continuingly entrusting the second place to Tiesto.
Small talk trivia will have you know that Lady Gaga once warmed up for Rune RK in Detroit. He’s by far the best interna- tional selling Danish artist for several years and Rune once brought a wheelbarrow to an award show to collect his awards in.
Delusions of grandness...? Not a chance. “We were just trying to get as much press as possible,” laughs Rune. “It worked. No seriously, I work very hard and try to keep a very humble approach to the whole thing. The fact that people across the globe respond to my music and my DJing is a daily mindblower.”
And the mindblowing continues for Rune in 2011 with his Miami Buzzchart nr.1 song "FreeFall" with superstar Kelly Rowland on vocals, a brand new track with hot rapper Nicki Minaj for Ultra Records and a collaboration with Steve Aoki which features the vocalist from SHM "Leave the world behind" Miss Deborah Cox.
