One of Australia’s most influential DJ’s and producers, Peewee Ferris, has been instrumental in the Australian and international dance movement for well over fifteen years. Peewee holds a main room residency at Sydney’s, largest and most forefront nightclubs, Home. Friday nights at Sublime@Home have become a dance music institution, with over 3000 revellers attending each week, with international guests including Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, John Fleming, Lisa Lashes, Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyk.
Peewee has headlines all major Australian dance events, including Future Music Festival, Two Tribes, Summadayze, Big Day Out, Mobile Home, Chemical Brothers, Ministry of Sound, Transmission, God’s Kitchen, Utopia, Gatecrasher, Slinky and Cream Tours. In 2006 Peewee released ‘Peaktime Vol 4’ and rhe mega successful ‘Wild Weekends Vol 3’ series for Central Station Records.
This year Peewee is releasing the next instalment of the hit CD series ‘Peaktime’ followed by a national and international tour promoting the CD.
In the past year, Peewee composed music for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Asian Games held in Dohar, Qatar. And by far the most prestigious highlight of Peewee’s career was composing original music for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, reaching an audience of over 4 billion people worldwide per ceremony. Peewee has also composed music many times for the NYE Sydney Harbour Fireworks Spectacular and was one of the musical composers for the Sydney Gay Games Opening Ceremony.
Peewee has been voted one of the Top 10 DJ’s in the Inthemix poll, has been voted in Ministry Of Sound Mag top 25 most influencing people in Australia Dance scene, voted in Juice Magazine’s Top 25 DJ’s in the world and has been voted in DJ Magazine (UK) Top 100 DJ’s in the world. Peewee has worked throughout Asia and Europe. Peewee has toured China twice, alongside Seb Fontaine and Yousef and has made guest appearances at the legendary Zouk in Singapore. Peewee was the first Australian DJ to play in South Africa at Freedom Festival. Peewee also graced the shores of Hannover, Germany, where he was invited to play at ‘Lovestern Galatika Meets World Expo’, with an international line-up and more than 15,000 party people.
Peewee has twice been nominated for an Aria award for his album “Social Narcotic” and his Top 20 single 'I feel it'. He has been awarded an Aria Gold Record for production work and knotched up over 70 different dance remixes for artists such as Ultrasonic, Jocelyn Brown, Eternal Rhythm, Human Nature, Men at Work and the list goes on and on. Peewee’s pseudonyms include Evac, Slot Jockies, and Pipi Le Oui. Peewee was the first DJ to release a DJ mixed DVD compilation featuring 74 minutes of VJ (video jockey) visuals. His repertoire extends from corporate television and radio advertising campaigns to film soundtracks all around the world. Peewee Ferris is also exclusive ambassador for Italian clothing brand, Kappa.
