Monkey Brothers are Ruben and Sergio Pellon. As brothers, it was natural to start producing
music together, and leads to the beginning of Monkey Brothers projects with the intention to
create their original techno sound.
Sergio was first who started playing music in 1994 and became the resident DJ in MDF Sofa
Club in Madrid (Spain) for more than 4 years, and at the same time, he started to produce
music. Together they have been sharing the decks with artists such as Kiki, My My, and
Superpitcher. In 2003, Ruben moved to Lithuania and started playing at Stereo 45, an
underground club in Vilnius where he became the pioneer of the electronic music scene
there. He then became the resident DJ at Gravity club.
In 2006 they opened they own club "Milk Bar" where people could hear Pier Bucci, Mike Shanon, ADA, Smash TV. During that time, they were continuing to play throughout East Europe in "Fabric", "Nature" (Madrid), "Fellini"(Barcelona), "La Metro" (Alicante), FIB Festival (Castellon), Gravity (Vilnius), Nemo (Gomel), Festimad f (Madrid).
In April 2008, Monkey brothers released their EP "Panico Escenico" for Regular label, one of
the most important and recognizable labels in Spain, and continue working with artist such
as Pablo Bolivar, Inaqui Marin, Jeff Bennet, Jaumetic, and Anna.
At this moment Monkey brothers are preparing their new release for Regular and another EP
for the New York label Hidden Recordings, which will include a remix by Pablo Bolivar. They
also continue to play live every weekend in clubs around Europe.
Deepak Says: "I charted a Monkey Brothers track in June 2008 for Beatport. I never heard of these guys before but I saw they released on one of my favorite labels, Regular in Barcelona and gave the release a listen. The tracks were great, especially for the dancefloor and will definitely be used by DJs who want to keep a crowd dancing all night! They have a deeper, hypnotic touch combined with deep moving basslines that make them a great match for Hidden Recordings. It will be a pleasure to see their profile grow worldwide and knowing they are part of the Hidden Recordings family."
