BIOGRAPHY
Moe is part of the new generation of Sydney DJs making major moves within the club scene. Through his musical and technical diversity his skills on the decks have been showcased at nearly all the club nights around town; playing sounds from acid-jazz, soul and hip-hop right through to breaks and the many flavours of house. Going on 11 years of record collecting this 25 year old has done more in his DJ career than many in the industry simply for the pure love of music.
Since his professional introduction to Sydney’s club scene in 2001 at Gas Moe has gone from strength to strength, tallying up club gigs throughout Sydney as well as regular trips to Melbourne. His sound spans the many genres that are associated with funk and is mixed by a player who brings creativity and knowledge to the game.
Moe’s gig experience spans across Sydney’s well-known club nights including Sublime and Together at Home, Kink, Ear Candy and Hijack, After Ours & Art at Yu, Chinese Laundry, Tank, Gas, Funktrust, The Bourbon, Sounds on Sunday, The Roxy, Cargo, Sweetchilli, Ruby Rabbit and many others. Melbourne clubbers have enjoyed the Mo’Funk experience at Seven, 161, F4, Q Bar and Arthurs.
Other credits include regular mix airings on Triple J via Nicole Foote’s ‘The Club’ show - 5 in total, most recently December ’05 and February ’06. Official DJ @ the Red Bull Australian University Games, regular reviewer and columnist for 3D World, member of up and coming hip-hop/funk band Escondido and Official DJ at special events like the Miss Universe Welcome Home Party, Ja Rule, Chingy & 112 Party, Kanye West, De La Soul & The Rolling Stones Sydney Parties, and Australian Fashion Week Closing Party.
He has had the pleasure of Warming up for Iconic stars like Jazzy Jeff, Grandmaster Flash & Z Trip. As well as playing alongside the likes of Scratch Perverts, Kraak & Smaak, Slyde, Breakfastaz, Black Grass, The Nextmen, Stereo 8, P-Money, Sharam Jey, Fergie, Meat Katie, Groove Assassin, Pnau, Katalyst, Mark Dynamix, ATFC, Carl Kennedy, DJ Falcon, Melvin Moore, Resin Dogs and many more.
Moe also gets his music fix co-hosting the Friday Sunsets show with Inthemix on FBI Radio - not only playing the tunes but interviewing a vast array of internationals: Mark Farina, Anthony Pappa, DJ Godfather, Inland Knights, Scratch Perverts, JDS, Slyde, Chris Lum, Hed Kandi, Pendulum, Evil Nine, Malente, Moguai, Christopher Lawrence, Hernan Cattaneo, Cuban Brothers, Aqauasky, Freeform Five, to name but a few!
