When questioned in a recent interview Michael was asked why he prefers Techno and Minimal styles to any other.

“Techno offers endless diversity from the studio to the stage, it’s a living breathing organism that has stood the test of time and can evolve into what ever you want it to be……….and hell, what else are you gonna be rocking out to as the sun comes up at 8am in the morning, R&B? I don’t think so.”

2007-08 was big a season for Michael with his first release “Brown” sitting at the top of the Juno download charts for 12 weeks straight. His remixes for silverchair, The Veronias, Nylon and ATK were snapped up by some of the world’s top DJ’s and his Northern summer tour saw him play shows in Ibiza, Paris, Berlin, London and China.

Michael Doney LOVES techno, his passion for the style and fine detail to the genre siphons through in every release, DJ mix and live set he undertakes. This attention to detail has raised some eyebrows on the world scene with Michael booked to play at clubs like EDEN (IBIZA), TRESOR (BERLIN) and THE REX CLUB (PARIS).

His DJ sets have been quoted as “explosive and electric” and sometimes offer a dash of live synthesis or electronic (live) vocal. This diversity is what Michael tries to push in all his work with an ever changing, always evolving sound that drives deep into the heart of every Techno lover. He also runs small, monthly club nights in Sydney, Brisbane (AUST) and London (UK) that focuses on the Techno underground and community values.

With his own production and remixes hitting all the right buttons many would think that he might be taking a break…..NO WAY! his commitment to performing and touring will take him this year to the USA, China and the UK for DJ duties at some of the hottest club nights and parties across the globe.
