BIOGRAPHY
To put MDX’s (aka Mark Dynamix) career achievements into perspective is one hell of a task. Mark has been passionately and dynamically involved in the evolution of Australian dance music since he jumped head first into the house music scene back in the mid nineteen-nineties. Unprecedented for any other Australian dance artist, MDX has a staggering twenty-seven mix CD’s, eight original releases and numerous remixes which have catapulted his worldwide sales to nearly two million today. At the height of his globally renowned alliance and undyingly popular Ministry of Sound association, MDX’s “The Annual 2007” became the highest selling compilation in history on Australian shores. The warm up DJ of choice for international artists playing in Australia, his lengthy and prestigious DJ gig list has seen him get the party started from Europe to Asia to North America and extensively in his beloved homeland of Australia. Consequently, as has been witnessed by his longevity, MDX is as timeless an artist as they come.
???What MDX is exceptionally good at, is predicting trends and managing to stay ahead of the times. So, with a little initiative and fair amount of courage, MDX has decided to chair his own music label, Long Distance Recordings, which currently features a roster that includes Namito, Dave Basek, Danny Bonnici and Mortlock alongside his own releases. Why, you ask? That’s simple; to bridge the gap between the rising Australian and renowned European dance scenes. So let it be known; it’s no secret that Long Distance Recordings is effectively bringing you closer to the style of beats you can be blessed with across the seas - the name is definitely no coincidence. And with 2008 witnessing the first few releases off the newly formed label, 2009 will see the independent institution step its game up tenfold. Firstly, MDX will assemble the labels first official CD album which will feature previous hits, exciting new releases and collaborations alongside exclusive remixes. Single-wise, MDX will be showcasing more production prowess with two original tracks, namely “Flipper” and “Moment of Confusion between Man and Dog”. Following that, the LDR crew will hit the road with a national tour promised for mid-2009. Towards the end of the year, European & Canadian tours once again beckon for MDX.
Clearly, with a busy year like that planned, it’s little wonder why MDX is respected across the dance music circuit and how he got and has upheld his professional reputation. With the addition of 2008 number 1 DJ in Australia as voted by popRepublic magazine alongside his number 1 and number 2 DJ accolades with 3D World magazine and InTheMix Top50, Mark has proved time and time again, he's a once in a lifetime figure within the Australian dance music industry, with plenty more to offer us.
