“One such talent who has managed to rise to the top is Matt Nukewood aka Matt Hryniuk, who at 22 has chiselled himself a firm standing amongst Australia’s best in the dance music scene.” -inthemix.com.au
Matt Nukewood plays with the wisdom that can only come from experience. In a time boasting more turntable sales then electric guitars and more promoters/djs then Facebook event invitations can capacitate Matt Nukewood is filling the shoes of what is now defined as a professional “DJ”.
Promoting upbeat synthetic bass lines, punchy electronic drums and melodic vocals of big room house, Matt made some major impressions in 2008. Taking out the 3D World Street Press DJ of the Year award, debuting on the national festival scene and debuting at #30 Australia-wide courtesy of the 2008 In The Mix Top 50 awards. Currently #43 Australia-wide in 2009.
Without indulging in stereo typical self proclaimed bio hype Nukewood is well respected among many high profile peers as one of “Australia’s hardest working djs”. Currently a resident around some of Sydney and Australia’s most established nightclubs; Moulin Rouge, Soho, Chinese Laundry, Home and World Bar in Sydney and The Monastery Brisbane, The Bedroom Goldcoast, Lot 33 Canberra, and The Heritage Cairns.
Matt has featured in Future Music Festival 09, Ministry of Sounds Session Tour 2009, Ministry of Sounds Housexy 2009, Global Gathering 08, Freedom Festival 08, Ozfest 08 & 09, and has even drifted across the pond to New Zealand.
Matt can also be found rocking more clubs then Tiger Woods with one of Sydney’s most established acts Brenden Fing, forming “Ping Pong Djs” in 2008. With Brenden and solo Matt has supported names such as Steve Angello, Laidback Luke, Sebastien Leger, Chris Lake, Fedde Le Grande, Klaas, Tom Novy, Ferry Corsten, Felix Da Housecat, The Chemical Brothers, Sven Vath, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Tocadisco, David Guetta, Kaskade, Basement Jaxx, Stupid Fresh, Nick Supply, Deadmau5 and Bodyrox.
August 2009 has seen Matt play Es Paradis Ibiza and 2009/10 will see Matt Nukewood continue to progress into original music production following from his Aria chart remixes of “Robin S - Show Me Love” and “Dirty Laundry – Disco Infected” with Australia’s freshest dj Tom Piper.
The plan is simple, like your brother-in-law Phil. But unlike Phil, this plan just might work.
