BIOGRAPHY
MACEO WYRO is one of Poland's most famous leftfield dj's, with fifteen years of experience. He is a co-founder of Innocent Sorcerers, a futuristic combo, which has released their own tunes and as well as remixes for such groups as Slope, Koop & S.U.M.O. for Fluid Ounce, Raw Fusion, Sonar Kollektiv, Pulver (under Telesfor disguise) and Compost Records.
Maceo has been into music since early childhood (his both parents were musicians). He's mainly into organic sound of jazz, funk, soul, hop hop and everything that comes from black music. As much as he appreciates the classics, at the same time Maceo is always looking for new musical forms and textures. He's been promoting nu jazz & broken beat in Poland for a long time, inviting over some of the best dj's from the scene, such as: Rainer Truby, Shuya Okino, Michael Reinboth, Eddy Ramich, Chris Vogado (Zero db), Spiritual South and Mad Mats. As a dj he has also played support acts for such artists as Jazzanova, 4 Hero, Afronaught, Seiji, Richard Dorfmeister, Gotan Project, US3, Howie B, King Britt and Mark De-Clive Lowe. Maceo has a long radio experience, hosting his own shows at Warsaw's top music stations Radiostacja and Jazz Radio.
As a journalist he has his own review page in Poland's leading clubbing magazine, called Laif. Maceo was also a participant of Red Bull Music Academy, London 2002. In february 2007 his mixtape was featured in Gilles Peterson's Worldwide radio show. SORCERY is Maceo's first international internet radio show, which will cover the lates sounds of universe, as well as the all-time favourites and rarities.
Sorcery is a show for open minded listeners, where anything is possible. Prepare for heavy dose of jazz, soul, funk, deep house, detroit style techno, hip hop, broken beats and various organic & electronic sounds. We’ll be checking out the most interesting new releases on vinyl, as well as cd-r exclusives. Some shows will also feature an exclusive set from a very special guest dj.
