Luca Lozano fronts the highly applauded and much respected Klasse Recordings both as its co-founder as well as its primary artist. The British born, Berlin based DJ / Producer champions a sound that neatly rides the wave between House, Techno & Trip Hop where thuggish bass lines take center stage and deep, dark emotions intertwine with the upmost ease and style.
Lozano is not one to do things in half measures as his current role for Klasse Recordings encompasses much more than that of DJ / Producer. He is also the label’s A&R executive calling to arms fresh and exciting producers to join his growing Klasse army of enthusiasts. As such Lozano has already brought to the fold the talents of Sacha Robotti, Kris Wadsworth, Jordan Peak, Johanna Knutsson, Minilogue, Huxley amongst many others, each one lending their adept hands at taking on his label’s sound. If all this wasn’t enough he is also the creative director of this imprint letting his artistic side loose where his love of outsider art, 1970’s graffiti come up trumps and is so prevalent in his label’s identity.
Luca’s first foray into the world of releases came in the form of “Berlinetta” on Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird Records. Since then, he has gone on to release a host of unique and undeniable original EPs and remixes on Klasse Recordings as well as Trapez and OFF Recordings for the likes of Tim Green, Portico Quartet, Nat Self, Daniel Dexter and more. In terms of what is upcoming, Luca Lozano has his debut artist album ‘Life In Black And White’ prepped, primed and ready for release on Klasse in April. It includes the massive dancefloor single ‘Need Nothing’ and his collaboration with Crosstown Rebels hot property: Amirali. The album guarantees to be an incredibly diverse musical journey all that showcases the full breadth of Luca's talents and influences. Add to this an EP with the much talked about Morris Audio label in October as well as a host of other projects in the pipeline there is no doubt that Luca has an exciting time ahead of him.
It is evident Luca’s work is deeply considered and he never forgets that music and nightlife are about having fun which is apparent in his music and in his vision. His label, under which a wealth of highly talented artists have found a home currently push what many have already penned as the “Klasse” sound and is steadily making waves in the underground. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground for this highly talented individual with a penchant for bicycles and big basslines
