Lineas de Nazca took form in Mexico City in early 2001, launched by Luca Ortega after
working since the early 90's on different projects for the Mexican electronic music scene.
Since then Lineas de Nazca has been all over Europe bringing the sound of today's Mexico
underground electronic movement, from clandestine techno parties in Berlin's warehouses
to multimedia festivals in Barcelona and open-air parties in Mexico, Sweden and around.
Besides releases on Berlin's label Eintakt, Lineas de Nazca tracks can be found on high
caliber labels such as Rrygular, Dumb-Unit and Sender in Germany, and on mixed
compilations by Luciano, Jeremy P. Caulfield and Craig Richards, with remixes by Mikael
Stavostrand, Jacek Sienkiewicz and Franco Cinelli, which provides examples of the growing
Lineas de Nazca sound.
Designed to explore and give a flow to the sound within, Lineas de Nazca's sound is dense,
minimal tech funk spiced with twisted samples creating endless rhythmic structures.
Deepak Says: "Lineas De Nazca was actually the first artist we reached out to for a release on Hidden Recordings, but because he is in such high demand with releases on such amazing German labels such as Sender, Dumb-Unit, Rrygular and Eintakt, it's taken sometime to work
together. But it will be worth it! I love his quirky, funkier style of deeper minimal music. I
would describe his tracks as clever, with subtle changes that really keep a groove of a track
interesting. It's going to be fun to have Lineas with us."
