A regular in Sydney’s underground club milieu, Brendan ‘Le Brond’ Cassidy has carved out a niche in the local dance scene with DJ sets that are meticulously constructed around deep and rhythmic variations on house and minimal sounds.
Having spun for many of Sydney’s most respected club brands, including Minimal Fuss, Finely Tuned, Sounds, Deep Impressions, The Box, Chemistry , Circoloco and Playground Weekender, Le Brond has played alongside international drawcards such as Akufen, Konrad Black, Ben Watt, Dixon, Gregor Treshor, Jamie Jones and even spinning internationally at Berlin’s Arena Club (Lessizmore) with Dop and Motor City Drum Ensemble and more recently playing at the established Transit party in Noumea, New Caledonia. A DJ career that was set in motion when he came to be infatuated with the club world back in the late 90s.
Since then Le Brond has forged his own musical identity with a sound that is based around deep rolling grooves that imbue all his sets, with his music selection influenced by renowned producers such as Mathew Dear, Charles Webster, Jay Haze, Dinky, Kalabrese, Dop, Justin Drake and Clive Henry. Le Brond retains his own distinct sound, a sound that has led to his favouritism around Sydney clubs and a bourgeoning reputation as an International man of mystery (thanks to some dubious promo material written by Mathew Aubusson).
