Justin Vandervolgen has a history spanning the last 13 years in the dance/disco community. He was both one of the founding members and the producer of !!! and Outhud and released remixes on Warp, EMI and Output. In 2003 Justin produced the seminal !!! record 'Me and Guliani Down By the Schoolyard' which became a UK dance chart hit and helped to bring the emerging early 2000s sound of NY dance music to the rest of the world.
Two years prior to this Justin had moved to New York and began DJing at some of the best parties and after hours spots in the city. In 2008 he left !!! to focus on producing, remixing and DJing. The same year he released his first edits 12" under his Try To Find Me guise on Golf Channel Recordings, one of the most exciting and talked about labels of the past few years. 2009 saw the first TBD record unleashed, a project with Brooklyn pal Lee Douglas. 'What Is This?' found its way into some of the the planet's top DJ bags and instantly made the duo one of the spiciest names in electronic music.
Since then they've released an original record on DFA, remixes for Runaway, Cos/Mes and Permanent Vacation, another colossal rework ('Get To My Baby') on Golf Channel and their own edits 12" 'Takes One To Make One'. Justin's 'Try To Find Me vol 2' compilation was hailed as one of the finest mixes of 2009 and exemplifies his skill as a DJ and passion as a record collector. 2010 will see the release of his own solo productions, various remixes and edits as well as new TBD material.
