Always a keen Gomma follower, Jerry Bouthier was so overwhelmed by the way the label had evolved lately - notably the creation of the Gomma Dance Tracks division - that when he offered to put together a special Gomma Mix / Edit / Collage extravaganza, which would include some edits specially made for the occasion, Gomma got excited imagining how a DJ with such special history and taste would reinterprete the label's catalogue. Bouthier's reputation as a genre-crossing DJ, as heard on his KitsunÈ-Ponystep and BoomBox mix cds, would sure add new twists. "This mix, for me, is the ideal Gomma mix tape, danceable all the way but never too fast or intrusive, the typical DJ mix for when you get home after a night out, perfect to chill to while remaining funky" he declared.
Part of the early 90s Parisian house scene with now deceased brother Tom (they overlooked ëP.U.R.í the first compilation of French electronic artists and recorded as Riviera Splash), he moved to London where he became resident dj of the iconic club-trilogy Family-BoomBox-Ponystep, got welcomed in the KitsunÈ family and turned fashion show sound-designer looking after Vivienne Westwood and many others whilst becoming a dj fixture at fashion parties for Sonia Rykiel, Gareth Pugh and countless others. JBAG - his project with Andrea Gorgerino - is soon to release the follow-up to its debut 'X Ray Sex' as well as striking remixes for Shindu, Arnaud Rebotini, Kamp!, Etienne Daho.
For '100% GOMMA' Jerry lovingly edited, spliced, cut and pasted 26 eventful and colourful Gomma Dance Tracks released in the last 2 years including tracks by Gomma bosses Telonius & Munk and the label's artists: The Glimmers, Moullinex, Rodion, Golden Bug as well as The Phenomenal Handclap Band, Diskokaine, Mercury, Dimitri From Paris.
