BIOGRAPHY
DJ and musician, Impulze, better known as Gudni Einarsson, at an early age fell in love with electronic music and soon began to fiddle with the decks and audio engineering. He discovered wonders from influences such as Acen, Basic Channel, Dave Clarke. Jeff Mills, Exos, Burial, Shlomi Aber, Ben Sims, and Chain reaction, just to name a few. Impulze had hardly ripened when his first single, Bekkur (Bench) was released on an independent British record label, Cube Recordings. Coming from the cold and mystique Iceland, Impulze???s music is unquestionably influenced by the dark, cold and bleakness of his country. Today, he is releasing new singles frequently on labels such as Pollux Records and 220 V Recordings, determined to keep his focus on composing in addition to his evolving career as a DJ.
In 2007 Impulze coordinated monthly club nights, called Hugsandi Danst??nlist, translated as ???Reflective Dancemusic???, where the most notorious DJ???s and producers of Iceland showed off their talent. Namely, Biggi Veira (GusGus- Kompakt), Sean Danke (Pollux Records, Affin), and Oculus (Communique, Farbenfroh) pleased the crowd. These nights went big and Impulze became and important link in the Icelandic techno scene. Some may say he set the standard fairly high.
In 2008, Impulze set forth to Amsterdam, where he studied audio engineering at the SAE Institute and graduated with a diploma a year later.
Today, he is back in Iceland, hosting a techno radio show, Techno.is, along with well recognized Exos. His aims are high for the future dance and club scene in small but renowned Reykjavik and further abroad.
