1996, the 10 years old Galen Behr discovers what 10 years later would appear as his biggest hobby. Trance is moving fast, and Galen found out very quick that he would like to take part of this style of music. Spinning trance music became his passion. Not long after this period Galen started producing hiw own tracks. His breakthrough was a remix he did for Ferry Corsten’s Indigo, under his Passiva disguise. Quickly after that, tracks like ‘Ava Mea - In The End’ (#13) and his collaboration with Arizona, ‘Halo’ (#7) would follow. From 2005 on he started to use his own name for producing tracks. Galen Behr’s first record under his own name appeared first in 2005. ‘Time Will Tell’ was pretty soon followed up by ‘Desert Twister’ and a collab with Robert Burns, ‘Till We Meet Again’. This record stole many people’s hearts, hitted the second spot in the dancetrends Top 30, and was played by almost any Trance DJ.
Nowadays Galen Behr spins allover the world. Just 20 years old he spun in for example Italy, New Zealand, UK, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey and Holland, and its 2007 agenda seems to become a real world tour. His new bomb ‘Carabella’, a record on which he was joined by an Israeli producer called ‘Hydroid’ is currently being played by for example DJ Tisto, but the remix of this track, made by Galen Behr and Orjan Nilsen, is even a bigger hit! It’s being hammered by Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond regularly, and voted Future Favorite in Armin’s ‘A State of Trance’ radioshow. It’s currently the highlight of the Amsterdam Dance Event 2006, in both Armin van Buuren’s and Paul van Dyk’s sets!
With the coming of a new solo project, and a second collaboration with Hydroid, all to be appeared on United Recordings, Galen Behr’s future seems to conquer a good spot between the other big trance icons.
