Daniel Brandt has been involved in music for a long time.
He played drums and piano from an early age in several jazz, rock and pop bands and classical orchestras & ensembles he focused more and more on electronic music. After starting to play for four years in the german drum & bass band "Die Spielwiese" back in 2003 he started two new live and production projects: "The Free Electric Band" focused on minimal techno and electro with a stunning live-dance-show and "Scott" a production team with his friend Jan Brauer who play and produce house and jazzy techno with releases on My Best Friend ltd. (Traum Schallplatten), Fluid Ounce and their own label Doppelschall.
With Scott, Daniel and Jan toured intensively around the world in 2008 and 2009 with more than 50 shows including gigs in Tokyo, Moscow, Singapore, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Berlin. In 2006 Daniel has taken part in the Red Bull Music Academy in Melbourne, where he worked and recorded together with several international musicians like Dj Zinc, The Mizell Brothers, Aloe Blacc and many others. As a result of the Academy many collaborations with other participants were started. One of the collaborations resulted in a band project which will soon start to release a series of 7" records on London's Burnt Progress Label.
In 2008 he joined forces with Paul Frick (Kalk Pets) and Jan Brauer from Scott to start a new project focussed on a mixture between modern classical and techno music. The trio called "Brandt Brauer Frick" will release their debut album in november 2010 followed by a tour as a trio and also a ten piece acoustic ensemble in 2011.
In 2009 he started Doppelschall's sister label „The Gym Records“ together with Paul Frick, Jan Brauer and Pierre Chevallier aswell as a Film production company which goes under the name „Park Bennett“ together with fellow students from the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne where he is just about to finish his first short film. Besides that Daniel is deejaying for more than eight years all around the world having played at many clubs such as Bar 25 (Berlin), Honkytonks (Melbourne), The Butter Factory (Singapore), Hotel Me (Barcelona), Propaganda (Moscow) and Watergate (Berlin), just to name a few. He plays a mixture between Old School House, Techno, Dubstep and Disco.
