Brian Storming is a band with the soul o fan orchestra, an audiovisual Project, a traveller restlessly wandering through the country of our dreams… the music that sounds through the looking glass.
Brian Storming beckons you to travel through that dreamlike universe in all its avatars: as a live band, through studio albums, or even in its videos, small Films that represent the imagery of Brian Storming. In each case, Brian Storming is totally self-developed, where the members of the Project give life to each of its parts, which makes it a rare offering within the Argentinean music scene.
Brian Storming is Duncan Toth as singer and director, Mariano Sagardía as decks operator and visual artist, Lucas Herbín in drums, Mauro Quintero in guitar, Juan Sábato in bass, Andrés Ravioli plays the trumpet and David Fernández trombone.
Brian Storming drinks from the fountain of psych and the innocence of bygone pop. Their songs, reminiscent on occasion, to a young George Harrison enamoured of Shankar’s guitar, and an instant later to the soundtrack of a fantastic movie. With no other reason than to trigger the fantasies of the listener, Brian Storming cannot be easily labelled; it can transport you from trip hop to vaudeville in a wink.
In October 2005, Brian Storming launched its first LP, “The extraordinaires voyages of Brian
Storming”, with 10 tracks that would define the wideness of the band’s range. After its successful reception, Brian Storming has played prestigious venues such as Teatro IFT, Teatro Santa María, Teatro Regina, Teatro España de Rosario, Festival Independiente de Mar de Plata, Creamfields 03 y 04, Festival BUE 06, Niceto Club, Auditorio de Radio Nacional, Estudio Abierto 05, 06 y 07, Código País, Festival Verano 07, Ciclo Compass 07 among others.
During February 2007, they were selected by British band Coldplay to open their three shows at Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires. On the same year, come November, it was Icelandic songstress Bjork who selected the tiny orchestra for the opening of her own Buenos Aires performances. After a period of silence, during which the band dedicated its energy to the creation of the tracks that would become part of their second LP, Brian Storming returns to the stages with new material and an EP which will be available in October 2008, “Brian Storming Avec L´Enchanting Device”.
