BIOGRAPHY
“It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. My discovery was the result of musical perception.” (When asked about his theory of relativity) – Albert Einstein.
In an ever changing and evolving industry, overabundant with a detailed tapestry of trends, sounds, excessive behaviours, egos, and a severe lack of sincerity, a simple sign your heading in the right direction can be summarised in one word, longevity. For the last 5 years Brenden Fing has been a name associated with upfront, percussive and main room house sounds.
With such a genuine knowledge and love for music Brenden has a list of credentials that would make a Master’s in Communication Arts look modest. Approached and employed by one of Sydney’s premier record stores, Onestop deejay, buying their music for 3 years, securing the position as resident half time dj for the NRL’s West’s Tigers and boasting healthy list of residencies in Canberra, Coffs Harbour, Queensland and Sydney.
Inspired and influenced by the sounds of house music pioneers Derrick Carter, Bob Sinclar, and Mark Farina amongst others. Fing has played alongside some of the industry’s greats with international supports which include Steve Angello, Laidback Luke, Sebastien Leger, Chris Lake, Fedde Le Grande, Klaas, Tom Novy, Ferry Corsten, Felix Da Housecat, The Chemical Brothers, Sven Vath, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo, Tocadisco, David Guetta, Kaskade, Basement Jaxx, Stupid Fresh and Nick Supply.
Brenden has featured in Future Music Festival 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, Ministry of Sounds Session Tour 2009, Ministry of Sounds Housexy 2009, Global Gathering 08, Freedom Festival 08, Ozfest 08 & 09, among many more.
In 2008 Fing teamed with “one of Australia’s hardest working djs” Matt Nukewood to form Ping Pong Djs. Realising that they both are inspired by the one thing that the shores of Sydney lacks, house music. Creating a branded “Ping Pong” party that has played host to international acts such as Stupid Fresh, Out of Office, Nick Supply, Splitloop, Supermal, Bingo players, Prok and Fitch and Kid Kenobi and playing across Australia with Nukewood securing residencies in Canberra, North Queensland, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.
2009/10 will see Brenden continue to progress into original music production following from his top ten Aria chart remix of “Don Diablo – Who’s your daddy?” with Rob Kay. People are standing up to take notice and house music is coming back into the fray.
