BIOGRAPHY
Born from some of biggest house parties in Bondi and Tamarama over the past few summers, the Bondi House DJs have now started exploding onto Sydney’s club scene.
The group was first introduced to each other on the decks at a massive house party hosted by Scott Offord and his mates on the back streets of North Bondi two years ago. Ramming home the beats from day one was long time DJ Rob Hindson aka Rhino Plastique who was later joined at the helm by Michael LeMessurier aka Freddy la Funk along with a small collection of mates who all added their unique styles to the group as required; namely Scott Bradley (Scotty B), Theo Antonakos (Teo), Lucas Ellis (Moniker), Joseph Ferrar (Professor J) and Rupert Pugsley (Wax Daddy).
The first Welcome to Summer Party saw the Bondi boys tear the roof off the house to a crowd of hundreds; the night was huge, the house a mess and the punters left gagging for more. Word of the first Vicars Mansion party in 2006 spread fast and by the end of the summer, after numerous other hugely successful parties around Bondi, time for the next party rolled around and by now the guys were already looking for bigger venues and the nucleus of the Bondi House DJs had begun to take shape.
Conceptualised by Scott as manager of the group along with Rob and Mick as the headline DJs, the idea was to mesh the polished sounds of professional club DJs with the friendly and familiar ‘in-the-living-room’ vibe of a house party that had been so successful in the past and take this to Sydney’s biggest clubs. The BHDJs have recently been behind events at Cargo Bar, The Eastern and Favela as well as hosting their own successful nights at Ruby Rabbit and Soho Bar. This refreshing change to Sydney’s often pretentious and repetitive nightlife is what has continued to make their parties more popular than ever.
The summer of 2008/9 is set raise their profile further with a weekly residency at Sahnia on Bondi Beach, plus a host of festivals and events across Sydney.
