BIOGRAPHY
Biz is one of the originals when it comes to the evolution of electronic music in Australia, and has been a key player in the game since the late eighties. He works the turntables with a vitality few can match and is known for his ability to tear up the dancefloor. He has had the chance to support over 50 of the world's greats from Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Derrick May, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, thru to Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Carl Craig, Aphex Twin and just about every other dj/producer who has made their mark in techno over the last two decades.
Biz has played at some of the best party's and clubs in the game. Be it the smaller clubs like Chinese Laundry, Lost Baggage, Honky Tonks, and Tweakin thru to national events such as The Big Day Out, Happy Valley, Gatecrasher, Two Tribes, and the big super clubs like Home. He promoted the infamous night Technikal that ran successfully for three years becoming Sydney's leading techno club. He has toured all over Australia and New Zealand numerous times and has played at London's famous Complex. Biz was also based in Beijing for six months where he had a residency at one of their leading clubs. During this time he had the chance to play live on the CCTV/Channel V music awards, The "Global Undergound" party at The Great Wall, and other events around the region. He has also played in Singapore being the main attraction at the Liquid Room.
As a producer Biz has released over 20 records worldwide thru major distributors such as Neuton, Prime and Kudos, and has been charted by the likes of Villabos and Derrick May. His label cliq is making all the right moves and has a distribution deal with Detroit distributor Electrobounce. His second label machinemusik is being distributed online by Beatport . Remixes include Green Velvet’s “La La Land” for MOS, and Deepchild.
Biz has hosted some of the finest radio shows in Sydney and had numerous guest spots on national stations such as JJJ. He has run three record stores over the last decade and compiled releases for labels such as Force inc and Detroit's legendary Submerge. He has worked with Roland promoting their dance product and he also co-promoted the legendary Flash parties, events that introduced Sydney to the pioneering artists of Detroit. Touring greats such as Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Claude Young, and DJ Rolando. He currently runs Machinemusik which specializes in intensive training of Ableton and is a specialist for Apple computers.
