BIOGRAPHY
Beth Yen is the most talked about new DJ to hit the Australian club scene in 2008 - Her energy and excitement taking dance-floors to a different place where the music and dancing never stops, her passion for music and irresistible energy behind the decks infecting dance-floors like never before.
With a cheeky smile and an instinctive sense for reading the crowd, Beth’s style produces unique fusions of deep, jackin’ house with soul, latin, funk flavours and a fresh touch that keeps people moving, anytime day or night.
Yen’s love of house music began when she hit the clubs in her native UK to dance the nights away. Taken by the hypnotic sounds of house and inspired by DJs such as Frankie Knuckles and Roger Sanchez, she started to spin at underground parties and club nights such as the legendary Speedqueen in Leeds, UK.
As her love of house music and passion for performing broadened, so did her horizons. Travelling the world, Beth found the Land of Oz and decided to develop her promising career into something more. With decks in one arm and a fresh stack of vinyl in the other, in just one year Beth Yen has become an established force on the Sydney scene.
From playing at leading underground house venues - Cargo, Columbian, Bank Hotel and Opera bar, Beth Yen has progressed to a residency at Sydney’s premier house club ‘Together’ at the Arthouse, spinning with international DJ’s Stonebridge, Jack McCord, Jason Bye and Steve Divine.
To cap off her amazing rise to the top of the DJ leagues, Beth Yen was hand picked to perform at the 30th Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Party, playing a memorable 4 hour set to a massive crowd of 25,000 party people.
Now teaming up with leading house label Hed Kandi and making her first real moves in the studio, a stellar career lies ahead for this beautiful and talented DJ.
