Washington DC duo Benoit & Sergio have been making waves in the dance music world ever since their recent debut, bridging the gap between underground tech-house and club-friendly electronic pop with success and ease. The duo have demanded attention with their soulful yet accessible rhythms and grooves combined with labeless melodies and hooks and flawless production. Their music captures within itself a narrative, imagery and heart, a rare feat in dance music today.
They have released on institutional labels such as Bruno Pronsato’s boutique label, thesongsays and are now part of the Spectral family.
The duo debuted in 2009 on thesongsays with their critically acclaimed and favourite of many producers ‘What I’ve Lost EP’, a diverse and impressive journey through genres with a pop sensibility and poignant lyrics of loneliness. The EP received a 4.5 out of 5 rating from Resident Advisor and support from iconic DJ/ producers Seth Troxler, Shaun Reeves, and Ryan Crosson. Ryan Crosson later joined forces with Sergio to create Spectral duo Birds & Souls. Benoit & Sergio later released the phenomenal ‘Midnight People’, their first single on Spectral Sound.
Benoit & Sergio are trailblazers in the scene, taking influence and inspiration from bands and artists such as Talking Heads and Paul Simon, which has seen them have the success they’ve had. Benoit & Sergio set trends rather than follow them, and armed with a global touring schedule, legions of loyal fans and natural flair produce accessible and original electronic productions, Benoit & Sergio have a long and fruitful career ahead of them.
