Cape Town Electronic Music Festival has become an institution for local and international talent in its seven years running. Hosting electronic music legends like Richie Hawtin, Dixon, Octave One and many more since its inception in 2012, CTEMF went above and beyond the expectations of Cape Town punters.
After moving around from various iconic venues in and just outside the CBD, the festival heads to the 340 year-old Castle of Good Hope in the city centre, and with an entirely new all-local lineup.
On the bill for 2019 are some of the country’s best and most active DJs and producers. From house staples Dwson, Thibo Tazz, Deep Aztec and Phat Jack to techno dons Craig Placid, Deano, STAB Virus and Cody Meyer, to live acts like Morena Leraba, Patty Monroe, Shane Eagle and Thor Rixon—the lineup encompasses a wide spectrum of top-notch talent from a variety of genres in SA, while creating a platform for the tried and trusted to shine.
With just over three weeks to go, the festival’s new direction returns the spotlight to the source and showcases the plethora of exciting talent that South Africa has to offer, at one fo the most important national heritage sites in Cape Town.
