Les Plages Electroniques festival, heading into its 13th edition this month, is shaping up to be yet another incredible event set on the beautiful beachfront of La Croisette in Cannes.

On August 10th, 11th and 12th, the iconic beach festival will welcome some of dance music’s most sought-after acts. Over the years the festival has been able to adapt and successfully fuse together culture and exploring the busy streets of Cannes with the chance of a relaxing swim in the Mediterranean Sea as well as world class musical offerings to make it a truly unique experience.

This piece focuses on five very different artists, each at the very peak of their game; fully expect some mesmerising moments from this lot at one of France’s most idyllic festivals.

We kick off our list of artists with Parisian artist, Agoria. It’d be criminal to leave out one of France’s most lauded DJs and producers. Sébastien Devaud, aka Agoria, has been actively involved in electronic music since the early 90s, earning his stripes and honing his craft in dignified fashion. With an assortment of releases on the likes of Kompakt Records, No. 19 Music and Innervisions to his name, you can rest assured his contemporary style of melodious techno will be displayed in all its glory.

Amelie Lens

A very familiar figure now on the techno circuit, in just a short few years Belgian powerhouse Amelie Lens has amassed an extensive following through a combination of her heavy-hitting performances and releases like "Exhale"—and more recently "Jealousy" on her own Lenske imprint. If dark and pummeling techno on the beach sounds like your kind of thing, then Lense should be high on your list of artists to see.

Sven Väth

A man who needs little to no introduction, Sven Väth is an iconic legend from the very beginnings of techno and electronic music. From the nostalgia of his crazy parties at the likes of Love Parade in Berlin through to his eccentric and forthcoming nature in interviews and beyond; Papa Sven will bring a special vibe that’ll resonate through an undoubtedly buoyant and packed-out crowd.

Rune Reilly Kölsch is undoubtedly one of the most thought-provoking and emotionally gripping artists in the scene. From his amiable Speicher releases on Kompakt Records through to recent hits like "Left Eye Left," his emotive tone is infectious. Those in attendance will be sure to experience those hands in the air, joyous moments.

German artist Recondite will be on hand to showcase his expansive and intricate brand of techno through his impressive live show. A reputation upheld by his immersive productions built on field recordings and other unusual outlets, much akin to Burial, is what makes Recondite such an exciting artist to watch. His works on Dystopian, Hotflush Recordings and his own Plagent Records confirm the plaudits he so often receives.
