Anderson .Paak will be making his debut in Kuala Lumpur on the 26th of July at KL Live. Organised by Frisson 369 and CollectiveMinds, the Grammy nominee will be performing KL a one-night-only headlining performance alongside his renowned backing band, The Free Nationals.

Anderson’s first breakthrough in the R&B scene came in 2015 with the release of six powerful tracks on Dr. Dre’s legendary 2015 album, Compton. The 32 year-old first dabbled in the world of music as a teenager, playing the drums in his church band.

After releasing his debut album, O.B.E. Vol. 1, under his previous pseudonym Breezy Lovejoy in 2012, Anderson toured as a drummer for American Idol contestant Haley Reinhart. He continued his musical pursuit with a follow up album, Venice under his current moniker ‘Anderson .Paak’ in 2014, featuring production from artists like DJ Nobody and Tokimonsta.

His 2016 album Malibu debuted at #9 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop chart and was nominated for two Grammy Awards in the Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best New Artist categories in 2017.

Anderson is currently working on new material after the huge success of Malibu. “Dre had a heavy role in this new album that’s almost done”, he said in the press release. “I won’t say any dates, but you can definitely expect it this year sometime,” he was quoted saying in an interview with Australia’s Triple J.
