As the biggest party night of the year approaches, promoters all over the world are vying for your hard earned cash.
From huge warehouse gatherings to beach festivals, new club openings to marathon raves, there is plenty to get excited about. As such, we round up some of the tastiest looking parties from across the world.
HYTE has had another strong year, from their series at Amnesia Ibiza this summer to several massive parties at ADE. They now look to top it all off with a 24-hour non-stop party under the arched ceilings and concrete pillars of Funkhaus Berlin. Expect mind-melting sets from Ricardo Villalobos, Nina Kraviz, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, Pan-Pot, Tale Of Us, Steve Rachmad, Bjarki and many more.
Glennworth Valley, Australia
This is not only a great sounding party with sets from Jackmaster and Patrick Topping, Little Dragon and Jon Hopkins, but also a chance to reset your mind thanks to the yoga and meditation workshops in the Shambala Fields just outside Sydney. And with tasty offerings like fusion Japanese food, wood fired pizzas, vegan offerings and southern Indian delicacies, this pretty much the perfect way to end the year.
This former factory gets reborn as E1 on New Year’s Eve thanks to the vision of a number of seasoned industry veterans. Kitted out with a punchy and bespoke Funktion-One soundsystem, it's a blank canvas events space that starts with 27 hours of non stop house, techno and electro from Mano Le Tough, Âme, Blawan, Avalon Emerson, Kiasmos and more.
Oval Space and Pickle Factory, London
The intimate Pickle Factory and larger sister venue Oval Space join forces to offer plenty of diversity across both rooms. Tasteful party DJ Move D plays four hours, joined by Prosumer and Maurice Fulton, and the inimitable Andrew Weatherall goes all night long in The Pickle Factory.
Phu Quoc, Vietnam
From the people who brought you Kazantip, Epizode is a week long event on the tropical paradise island of Phu Quoc. Think humid jungle, turquoise seas and white sandy beaches, parties in coves and on the beach, on boats and in the hills, and sets from acts such as Carl Cox, Dixon, Call Super, Nicolas Lutz, Marcel Dettmann, Peggy Gou, Richie Hawtin, Chris Liebing and Mathew Jonson.
The mightiest techno brand of them all is celebrating the end of 2017 with not one, not two, bur four events at the vast former gas works complex. Starting at midnight on December 30th and running until January 2nd, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Maceo Plex, Chris Liebing, Joris Voorn, Eats Everything, and many more are all set to feature, as will Awakenings’ famous production.
Various venues, Rome
This is a chance to curate your own lineup, as Cosmo Festival takes over various venues, all within a few hundred yards of each other in Rome—one of the most beautiful cities in the world. They promise world class light and sound in each venue, and techno leaning lineups featuring Chris Liebing, Peggy Gou, Nastia, Loco Dice, Len Faki, Marco Faraone and more.
