Sydney purveyors of fine House and Disco music - Rotarydisco - are briniging another New York City legend, Mr V, to Sydney for the second of their Corona Spring and Summer Series day parties.
The head honcho of labels Sole Channel Music and Muzik 4 Tomorrow, Mr V has been a stalwart of the NYC House Music scene for well over 2 decades.
Growing up in the 1980's he was surrounded by the NYC melting pot of musical influencnes - Rhythm and Blues, House, Hip-Hop, Latin, Garage and (of course) Disco. As a close friend of Lord G (who had a Thursday night party in the city) Mr V grew aspirations to take to the decks himself to fully control the vibes. Despite this, it wasn't until he met Louie Vega that he truly found his calling. Seeing drive and potential in a young Mr V, vega hired the Nuyorican as his assistant, at the now world famous Masters at Work productions.
Through this priviledged position Mr V was given a rare glimpse into the global dance music scene and, before too long, he took to the decks alongside his mentor.
Now an international US House Music legend in his own right, he is known for his wildly eclectic sound and he has delivered productions and remixes for Ultra Records, Defected Records, Musical Freedom, Vega Records, Dopewax, Play It Down, Razor and Tape, Stricly Rhythm and many many more.
The venue for this one is a cracker - on the roof top of Cruise Bar in Circular Quay, it has a picture postcard backdrop of Sydney Opera House and the harbour. With a 2pm kick off through to a 10pm finish on Saturday 21st of October, this party will be all about the sunshine and sunset vibes.
