Current trends in Cape Town have seen a resurgence of warehouse rave and old-school music culture in Cape Town, with promoters and venue hunters searching for prime party spots in the industrial suburb of Paarden Eiland—already home to one of Cape Town’s favourite venues, Colorbox Studio.

In the last month, an event space named Canvas opened up, bringing foodies and music fans to their vast, open space. And one of the first big events to take place there will be the club classics party 2-Step, hosted by the organisers of Private Affair.

With a focus on ‘90s and ‘00s house, rave and dance music, 2-Step’s sold out inaugural event at the River Club was an instant hit. Pertaining to the “more experienced” generation of club goers, the nostalgia of the event gave revellers a chance to visit their memories of past Cape Town clubs like Studio 47, Gallery, Vibe and Deluxe—while creating new ones with this fresh new brand.

2-Step has only revealed Ron X, K-$ and Bryan Travis on the bill so far, but states: “Expect a night packed with jam after jam featuring the likes of Blue - Eiffel 65, Insomnia - Faithless, Kernkraft 400 - Zombie Nation, Red Alert - Basement Jaxx, King Of My Castle - Wamdue Project and One More Time - Daft Punk, just to name a few.”

Tickets for this throwback event of note are available from Quicket.
