The W Hotel’s annual SPF party has become known as one of the defining moments of the year, from 2016’s SPF with Culoe De Song and Hyenah, a party that influenced music in Bali for the following year, to 2013 when the W brought out legendary French duo Cassius. This year the W is inviting house music heavyweights Osunlade and Cristoph for SPF 2017 on July 22nd.

Starting off composing music for Sesame Street in the late ‘80s, Osunlade has worked with legends like as Patti Labelle and Roy Ayers. Since moving more to his African roots, Osunlade has as much of a name for himself with his electronic music production, receiving support from the likes of me and Rampa, who’ve both remixed his tracks. British-native Cristoph has been releasing countless productions on Hot Since 82’s label Knee Deep In Sound, while recently he has dropped a track on Eric Prydz’s new label Pryda Presents and on Brazil’s iconic club Warung Recordings.

With the theme Fever Dream, the party will be divided into two parts: Day Dream and Night Dream. Day Dream will see Jakarta-based designer Fajar P. Domingo taking over the WooBar deck with an interactive fashion show and live music, while would-be producers can have a chance to do a jam sessions in the world famous W Sound Suite—the W’s fully equipped recording studio that has hosted stars ranging from Deamau5 to Marc Romboy. The as Night Dream takes over, the party will shift gears as Osunlade, Cristoph and the W resident DJs provide the night’s tunes.

Judging by this year’s teaser, Bali is in for a treat.
