The tragic weekend news of Chester Bennington’s death sent shockwaves through the music industry, and was a chilling reminder of how many people may suffer in silence from depression and anxiety.

To raise awareness, South African live stream specialists Militia Broadcast are setting up a benefit concert in memory of the Linkin Park frontman.

The concert strives to raise funds for various beneficiaries that can use a helping hand in dealing with broken families, as well as organizations that can help and support teen suicide cases.

But they can’t do it alone, and have called for assistance from production, printing, media, accommodation, catering and transport industries to make this concert a reality. This in addition to any financial contributions for consumable expenses.

Eban Olivier of Militia Broadcast said in a statement on Facebook: “My family and myself committed our entire savings account to contribute this lump sum to kickstart this concert. We have world class agents helping us rally support from international acts which supports our campaign as we speak.“

“The aim is to save 1 life,” he continues. “Life is so beautiful and amazing and there are situations that are out of our control that can hit us in the face like a brick and all we thought that was "normal and stable" fly out the window. Depression is a very real problem in all our lives—just at different levels.”

He concluded saying: ” We will create a trust fund in the next few days to hold all donations collected through this initiative. We can only thank you from our hearts.”
