DJ culture has risen quickly in the last five years for Indonesia, and with it an immense amount of talent has come out to support the scene. Rising above their peers are these five DJs who have certainly left their mark on the scene recently. From resident DJs who have built the scene from the ground up, to the up-and-coming new producers who are defining Indonesia’s sound, get to know these top five DJs who are smashing the Indonesian scene.

In this last year alone, this Bali-based techno and tech house selector Wisdy has opened or closed for Timo Maas, Eagles & Butterflies, Ame, Whomadewho, Oliver Huntermann, Kim Ann Foxman and Carl Craig. And as the long-time resident for Jenja and Mint Club before that, he provided the soundtrack to many Bali nights out.

Dipha Barus

Dipha has quickly risen in the ranks of Indonesia’s DJ world with his insane touring schedule and his ability to blend multiple genres into his high-energy sets. His fame is continuing to grow as his latest single ‘No One Can Stop Us,’ which has been a staple on Indonesian radio and is nearing 3,500,000 million plays on YouTube. Not many other DJs can attest to the same achievements.

This Japanese native has made Indonesia her home, and techno heads couldn’t be more grateful for it. From her blistering tech sets she plays at her many residencies over Jakarta to her beautifully curated ‘After Dark’ radio shows on Frisky, DJ Apsara has left her mark on Indonesia. Since joining State of Play, Jakarta’s premier progressive house and techno DJ agency, she has toured across Indonesia.

Bali’s Dubwill could be considered one of the best hip-hop DJs of Indonesia, if not the best—a very hard title to attain. In high demand because of his ability to blend insane scratching skills with a party groove, he has played in almost every venue of Bali, even expanding into Jakarta. Expect to hear even more from Dubwill.
