As festivals go, few are as focused on the outdoor experience as Lush, making a unique addition to the festival scene in South Africa, attracting several thousand revelers in its debut last year.
While there’s still plenty of music and partying, the Clarens-based bash features extras like horseback riding, hiking, abseiling, rafting, an official trail and fun run, as well as a three day mountain biking tour—and you can even drink champagne up in a hot air balloon.
Music for the three-day outdoor event include local favourites Kyle Watson, Chunda Munki, Jeremy Loops, Timo ODV and many more local across the three stages, as well as the headliners—Australian rock band and creators of the hit-single “Sweet Disposition”—The Temper Trap.
The Linwood Farm in Clarens offers breathtaking views of the rolling hills of the Maluti Mountains, with green grass for miles around. Nicknamed the "Jewel of the Eastern Free State", Clarens is an artists' haven with many well-known painters either living in or frequenting the village.
Lush takes place from April 13th to 16th in Free State, South Africa. For more info and tickets, click here.
