If there’s one thing Croatia is known for it’s beach festivals, and a list of beach events almost wouldn’t be complete without Dimensions. The stunning beachside abandoned Fort Punta Christo becomes home to some of the best underground talent on the planet, which in 2017 will include Jeff Mills, Nina Kraviz, Moderat, Ben UFO, and a host of others.

Possibly the most unique beach event on our list, and featuring one of Jamiroquai’s first shows for 2017, Cornwall’s Boardmasters is still experiencing growth despite a 35+ year heritage, and an average capacity of 40,000 revelers in attendance each summer. Part of the World Surfing League's professional calendar, previous alumni to the surf-and-music event have included Basement Jaxx, Fat Boy Slim, Calvin Harris, and Groove Armada.

The second event in Croatia on our list, Sonus’ fifth year on Zrce Beach in August is shaping up to be one to put on your calendar. Spread over five days and in three clubs bordering the beach, it ticks all the boxes you’d expect from an event on the Adriatic, with picturesque beaches, white sands, and a lineup featuring Adam Beyer, Jackmaster, Maceo Plex, Len Faki, Richy Ahmed, and Papa Sven himself.

Featuring a postcard-perfect location on the tiny Caribbean island of St. Maarten, a lineup to rival festivals much larger and more established, and one of the most epic arrivals into an airport in the world, SXM Festival’s second year marks some substantial growth in only their second year. A mere couple of weeks away, their 2017 edition will feature the likes of Jamie Jones, Black Coffee, Francesca Lombardo, Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, and many more.

Previously named the best festival in Northern Europe, Ostend Beach is coming back in a big way this year for its eighth edition on the sand in the sleepy Belgian town that gives the event its name. An extremely short hop from major European hubs like London, Berlin, or Amsterdam, the boutique dance event has featured acts like Sven Väth, Joris Voorn, Nicole Moudaber, and Amelie Lens – and of course event favourite Green Velvet, who will be returning for the fifth time in a row in 2017. that with Ostend being the #1 most trending city for holiday searched on Trivago – beating out even better-known European destinations like Naples and even Paris – and you’ve got the recipe for a banging two-day party on the beach in Belgium.
