For the last few years, Ralf Gum’s GOGO Music record label has hosted a fundraising event to kick off the new year by helping others. Previously held at the legendary House 22 in Pretoria, the annual event gives its entire door takings and a portion of the bar profit to charities and foundations that help underprivileged children.
This year’s event takes place at the famous Kitcheners Bar in Braamfontein, Johannesburg on Thursday January 19th, bringing top class local talent to one of the busiest strips in the city. On the line-up are Sir LSG, Themba, Ayanda Jiya and, of course, label bossman Ralf Gum, providing the musical vibrations from 8PM until close.
GOGO Music have selected the Thusanani Foundation for this year’s fundraiser, to help first year undergraduate students at Wits University. The proceeds will be used to provide aid in the form of temporary accommodation and necessities, such as food parcels and toiletries to destitute students who have not received permanent accommodation offers at their time of arrival to the tertiary institution. Tickets are available at the door.
