London nightclub Dance Tunnel just announced on Facebook it will close its doors for good in August 2016, due to the “licensing climate in Hackney”.

The Dalston venue, which opened in 2012, added that the licensing policy in Hackney “has made it impossible for us to get the hours we need to make Dance Tunnel sustainable in the long term.”

Located in a small basement with a 220-people capacity, Dance Tunnel is open until 3 am and is one of the affordable venues in the British capital. Known for its more underground lineup, featuring prolific house and techno DJs like Prosumer, Tama Sumo, Boris, Leon Vynehall, and its regular club night Ostgut Ton Nacht, Dance Tunnel has become an indispensable part of London’s nightlife.
