Listen, we get it. 1994 was a fucking ace year. The pills were amazing, the vibes were underground, hardcore would never die. Those born too late to hit the warehouses or fields around the orbital often look back at old rave vids with a similar sense of nostalgia. Such reverence is a beautiful thing.

But some old school rave vids show a different side of rave culture, one where the ecstasy seems more like speed, the underground vibes are more like 10-feet underground, and the tunes sounds like a broken powerdrill hammering its way through your temples. Case in point...

Although it's unclear where the video was shot (Our money is on Holland), what is clear is that rave culture can get pretty cutty pretty quickly, whether you're in 1994 or 2016, so perhaps we should appreciate what we've got and where we come from, but go easy on the hardcore rave tunes.
