Sydney’s longest running rooftop party Bare Essentials took a little hiatus from the party calendar last year and, we have to say, it’s been missed.

The Bare Essentials guys have kept busy in the meantime, hosting Day 2 of Lost Paradise and taking over Sydney’s Sunday kick-on S.A.S.H every other month, but in 2016 they’ve decided to bring their namesake event back with a series of rooftop parties planned for the coming months

What began in 2010 as a rather small affair with just 50 people gathered on the rooftop of Sydney’s Hotel Sweeney’s, Bare Essentials quickly outgrew the intimate venue as their events grew in notoriety and attracted party people from all around Sydney and beyond, with the most recent events attracting up to 1000 people.

The organisers have had to upsize their venues several times over the course of six years, but they have always remained true to their vertiginous roots and have been champions of pushing quality local talent.

The much-loved Bare Essentials rooftop parties will be making a triumphant return on March 5, to brand new digs at the stunning harbourside Café Del Mar with a massive surprise international guest.

To relive all the outrageous memories from the popular Bare Essentials parties, we got our hands on a gallery of images that span the six years it’s been taking over Sydney’s rooftops.

5 March – Café Del Mar, Sydney – Secret international guest + Jake Hough, Robbie Cordukes, U-Khan, Persian Rug, Techno More, Tyson Bruun, Jimmi Walker, Aurelia.
