Self-described German ‘"echno Marching Band" Meute, are making an excellent argument for why you should have joined the school band.

The Hamburg based musicians have released a video of their live cover of Âme’s timeless 2005 hit "Rej," and we have to say they’ve done a pretty outstanding job.

The band is comprised of a dozen drummers and horn players with a taste for techno and deep house who use their acoustic instruments to create “a new genre by combining hypnotic driving techno and expressive brass band music.”

We love the idea of recreating tracks from a genre so intertwined with technology that it’s actually named for it, using nothing but brass and percussion instruments. It seems almost… rebellious, in a way.

Meute’s marching band rendition gives "Rej" the uplifting vibe you’d expect and has been given the nod from Âme’s label Innervisions, who shared the video to their Facebook page.

But no word yet on how Meute will handle marathon late night sets at Panorama Bar.
