Following the tragic loss of David Bowie, some Twitter users have mixed up one of the most influential artists ever with David Zowie, expressing their grief of the "House Every Weekend" producer’s sudden passing.
A series of inconsolable music fans have paid tribute to the 34-year old house producer since yesterday and their tweets are hilarious.
Ironically, Zowie, who as far as we know is alive and kicking, was named after the "Heroes" singer himself and also paid homage to the late artist, by tweeting “Complete disbelief. The greatest ever.”
Zowie also tweeted a photo of a cassette, autographed by the late singer, with the caption "Such an immeasurably great man. We love you Bowie."
On top of that, the Kent-born producer replied to a tweet that read “@DavidZowie you alive lol” with “Unfortunately for some bro.”
Being a huge Bowie fan, Zowie’s dad decided to name him David Zowie Ziggy Stardust Aladdin Sane Thin White Duke Twig The Wonder Kid. Try mentioning this 75-character name in a tweet! Luckily, his mum had a change of heart and renamed her son to David Zowie Canada Batt.
The wave of confused tweets about the producer’s tragic end got a reaction from Eats Everything, who tweeted “These David Zowie tribute payers are immeasurable stupid.” We couldn’t agree more. Though this is not the first time Twitter users have been confused about a celebrity’s death. In 2014, some people on the microblogging website mistakenly believed that former Take That member Robbie Williams had died instead of comedic actor Robin Williams.
