As summer is about to hit the Philippines, the festival season is coming back in full swing. From large-scale EDM festivals to small intimate gatherings in some of the country's most beautiful beaches, one can surely find the right party experience. We've enlisted 5 of the best upcoming festivals happening in the first quarter of 2016.

1. Goodvybes Fest 

With top bookings like Disclosure, Justice, Simian Mobile Disco or Alex Metric in the past few years, the Vybe production crew has built a reputation in the Metro Area for hosting quality electronic music events. Now announcing the first edition of their very own festival, Goodvybes Fest, the line up includes headliners like Passion Pit, CHVRCHES, Stars and Oh Wonder, but also Busy P, Darius, MYD, Tenderfist, KJWAN, Brigada, Brisom, MOONWLK, Assembly Generals, Mulan, Samantha Nicole, Pelvis Resley & The Sex Offender and BP Valenzuela.

2. Vulan Imaginarium 

Said to be one of the most intimate festivals in the Philippines, the Vulan event series are usually limited to 150 persons per festival only. Set in some of the country's most beautiful, but undiscovered beaches and mountain areas, this edition will take place in Isla Haraya, Batangas. Although the line up is not yet revealed, Vulan usually features both local and foreign DJs for house, techno, deep house and psytrance music.

3. Wanderland Music and Arts Festival

Attracting thousands of young hipsters from all over the Philippines, Wanderland is the most popular indie festival in the country, with impressive international line ups every year. Headlining this year are Death Cab For Cute, Bon Iver, The Naked and Famous and San Cisco, Panama, Blackbird Blackbird as well as a local line up consisting of CRWN and Jess Connelly, Cheats, Chad Valley, Commandeur, Curtismith, Jensen And The Flips and Oh, Flamingo.

4. Malasimbo Music & Arts Festival

One has to be on site to experience the magic of Malasimbo Festival. Located in Puerto Galera's beautiful mountain area with only one main stage set in an amphi theatre, this festival attracts thousands of local as well as foreign music enthusiasts every year for live soul, jazz, reggae, funk and more. This years' line up includes Jacob Collier, Tom Thum, Gordon Hamilton and the Manila Symphony Orchestra, Sinosikat, Brat Pack, Lustbass, CRWN, The Reo Brothers, Kristian Hernandez, Badkiss, Mark Zero and Miro.

5. Summer Siren Festival

Usually a hot spot for surfers, once a year, Crystal Beach in Zambales transforms into a huge beach rave and attracts many young ravers from the Philippines. Summer Siren is one of the country's favorite EDM festivals and aside from DJs and live bands it offers many different activites. Although there is no line up revealed yet, the festival usually features the best local EDM DJs and bands for a three day party. Previous editions saw The Zombettes, Deuce Manila, Katsy Lee, Travis Monsod or Joey Santos gracing their decks.
