From Manila's underground to Burning Man or Berghain's Panorama Bar, Katsu is always on the look for the best party experiences around the globe, often exposed to the world's best house and techno DJs. Her engagement and passion for the electronic music culture, especially in Southeast Asia, has seen her speaking at IMS Singapore 2015, representing Pulse Radio Asia, but also organizing different events like the Manila Music Festival. On the decks, Katsu's music could range from deep, melodic, dark and techy house grooves. Check out her selection for this week's Top 5 Tracks.
1. Mira & Nico Stojan - Hangover
I had the pleasure of working with Mira while she performed at last November's Summit At Sea. Her music is subtle, yet mysterious. She is a legend in Berlin, her hometown. I love this collaboration with Nico Stojan, another rising star in the underground music circuit.
2. Anchorsong - Last Feast
I discovered the music of Anchorsong one evening at Wonderfruit, a music festival in Thailand. This Japanese producer has a fresh sound and delivers an awe-inspiring live performance. I look forward to hearing more from this up and coming artist as he tours around the world.
3. Sabo and Mikey Lion - Into The Jungle
Sabo is another artist that I had the pleasure to work with for Summit At Sea. He was so kind enough to send me music from his label Sol Selectas. The LA-based DJ/producer comes from a moombahton background - yet his tracks have some of the most epic build-ups. This one is a dancefloor bomb, for sure.
4. Tom Misch - In the Midst of it all (feat. Sam Wills)
Tom Misch is one of my favorite producers at the moment. His album Beat Tape 2 is arranged like an adventure. It's lovely to hear a cross-genre of soul and jazz influences from such a young producer, already making his music timeless. Tom is another producer who I'm looking out for, and you should to.
5. Sade - Pearls (Timo Jahns Remix)
Sensual, sophisticated, and pure class. Enough said, I'll let the music speak for itself.
