Did you think Amsterdam couldn't get any better?

Well, it's kind of true. The youth portion of the Liberal Democrats' political party is opening an ecstasy shop for one day as a statement in the Netherlands - where MDMA (the active ingredient in Ecstasy) is currently illegal.

As reported in Decoded, the political group will open the world's first MDMA shop on Monday (May 18th) for one day to help promote harm reduction with the popular club drug and also to gather signatures - 40,000 are needed - to help bring the Ecstasy decriminalization issue to the government's table.

Last year, three people died using Ecstasy during ADE, which is something the political party's president feels can be prevented.

"We can prevent minors from buying, make sure there's no overdose in pills and educate people on ways to minimize the risks involved with Ecstasy usage," Dirkjan Tils of the Young Democrats said.

Over 500,000 people in the Netherlands - where marijuana can be purchased and smoked legally at designated cafes and shops -  have tried Ecstasy at least once in their lives.
