With the growing pressure on music venues in London continuing to be a huge talking point, with pressure from rising property prices and redevelopment in the city threatening many venues with closure, the Mayor of London Boris Johnson has set up a "live music venue task force”.

Johnson says that "teeming wombs of London talent” need to be kept open and proclaims, “Let’s keep our live music venues live in London.”

The task force will be chaired by the charity Music Venue Trust and will also include Musicians Union and the campaigning and lobbying group UK Music.
