It doesn't get more retro than this. 80s icons Prince and Nile Rodgers have joined forces in what could be the retro revival of the century. The hair pair teamed up at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans over the weekend to perform David Bowie's classic "Let's Dance". The duo blew the audience out of the water with a novel rendition of the seminal tune. Rodgers produced the original Bowie track in 1983.

It has been a busy last few years for Rodgers, who has returned to the spotlight with a vengeance. The Chic frontman has been prolific of late, working alongside everyone from Daft Punk, to Avicii, to Disclosure, to Tensnake. Rodgers recently released a new track 'Do What You Wanna Do', which will be officially released August 10th.

Rodgers plans to release a new Chic track soon, featuring a host of international stars, "If I wound up getting a number one Chic record next year, I may consider that the greatest day of my life, in a life that has had a lot of great days".
